I'm in the process if speccing a solar battery installation, and I have a space I'd like to put the batteries, but it has limited height. Does anyone know if it is possible to either split a stack of 6, into 2 x 3s, or connect 2 stacks of 3 (i.e. 2 masters, 4 slaves) into one inverter. Looking at the KH10 Hybrid if it makes any difference, but open to other suggestions, if anyone has suggestions?

No it’s not possible to split a cube stack, they have pass-through battery connectors which don’t allow for any break out.

The only inverter that would take 2 seperate stacks is the H3 Pro (3 phase) which supports dual batteries.

The HV2600 (v1’s) support seperate stacking 2 stacks of 4 with an inter-connect cable and a max capacity of 20.48kWh on the latest Gen2 H1’s, KH etc..

Unfortunately the HV2600 is only IP21 rated, and while my location is sheltered and unlikely to get rained on it, is technically an outdoor space, so I was hoping to use IP65 or better rated batteries. I know I could get a IP65 cabinet, but it all takes extra space and expense.

There’s the EP11 & EP5 series which are IP65 rated, they need to be wall mounted but are quite low profile.

Someone else has suggested them, it's a shame they can't be laid flat, then they would be ideal, I am more than a little cautious of attaching a 100kg, battery to a wooden "wall" I have to admit. I am guessing they could be stood against the wall, as they are also floor standing, with the wall attachment as more of a balance/security feature, but that then limits them to been 1 high, along the bottom of the wall.

yes I do like the EP11 batteries but the thought of having a 100kg battery that could topple does worry me, I guess that's why they insist on them being wall mounted (rather than sat on the floor and attached to the wall), but you could add additional restraints if needed. - I saw a picture of the internals from Spain and it looked like they have an aerosol fire suppressor fitted in the top corner (still waiting on confirmation that is what it was) but would mean it *has* to be mounted upright.

The installation manual, is quite clear, not tilted, and not horizontal. So that would support it being something along those lines.

A little bit more information, both the Cube and the EP11 are both IP65, however the EP11 states it must be mounted in an approved enclosure, and definitely not outside. However the Cube has no such stipulation.
