Data issues with Cloud

I have an H3-Pro and have connected it to the Cloud. I am experiencing a number of data issues:

1. Solar panels are plugged into PV1 and PV3. PV1 shows voltage and power. PV3 only shows voltage, no power. When I check on the inverter, PV3 shows power. So for some reason the data isn’t being fed to the Cloud.

2. Battery SoC shows on the main screen and battery screen. However, when I look at the analysis chart, SOC is just a line at 0% (ie I can’t track battery charge and discharge over time). So although the data is going into the cloud, it isn’t being recorded for some reason.

3. The amounts produced and the amount used are wildly different. How can I be producing 20+kWh of energy, but only consuming 3kWh — and not exporting power to the grid? It does not make sense.

4. Self-Use: The inverter is using the grid instead of the battery despite the battery having 80-100% of power and the SOC thresholds are set at 20%/10%. All but one of the batteries are running v1.07, but one is stuck on v1.06. All of the other firmware was updated two days ago.

Any ideas on how to fix these issues? I’m quickly regretting getting a FoxEss system and not one with more reliable data and firmware.

This isn’t in any way to excuse them anything, but the H3 Pro has only recently been introduced and you are using the V2 app which is ‘still in beta’ so all in all it’s possible there will be some issues.

I’ve replied on the battery on the other thread,

On PV power and SoC, you should be able to check on the Foxesscloud website to see whether they are being recorded in the cloud - alternatively you can cross check with the Energy Stats app (available in ios and Android) to see whether it is a cloud issue or a V2 app issue.

I don’t really use the V2 app but if you look on the Foxesscloud website you can see your power and statistic graphs which should show you your daily usage which would confirm load and grid consumption totals as the usage graph you posed certainly doesn’t tally with your production figure in the V2 app.

If we can find out whether this is a data issue or an app visualisation issue (more likely) it can be reported to FoxESS as an error.

Hi Dave,

Thank you for the quick and thorough response. I am using both v1 and v2 of the app and Energy Stats. All are showing the same thing.

I checked on the website and the SoC chart is showing correctly. However, PV3 Power is still reporting as 0.

So it appears that the SoC is a bug with the app, but the PV3 data coming off of MPPT2 is a legitimate data feed issue.

Regards,

Stephen

Ahh of course the H3 Pro has 2 battery inputs - it sounds like the app must be getting confused as to which one to display - that’s a bug.

I think the PV3 power issue must be related to the H3 Pro as well, i’ve seen quite a lot of inverters showing PV3 & 4 power so looks like another one to report - just to confirm you don’t have a PV2 string fitted only strings on PV1 & 3

Correct. Strings are only on PV1 and PV3.
