How Does the App Work?

Hi,
We've just had panels installed and are working our way through using the app. We have the pdf instructions but there's nowhere near enough depth of information for us to understand quite what it's showing or how we can enable the battery to discharge at night rather than send to the grid, as we have yet to receive our certificate so can't apply for SEG. Is there a better more user friendly set of instructions anywhere please?

The manual is the worst part of the app i'm afraid.

Tony has put together a considerable amount of documentation that covers the website, how to set charge periods etc.. so hopefully that is a good place to start.

This link has everything about your batteries, minSoC (and what it means) and how to set charge periods https://github.com/TonyM1958/HA-FoxESS- ... Management

This link has a link that explains some of the features in the FoxESS cloud https://github.com/TonyM1958/HA-FoxESS- ... -ESS-Cloud

There is a new app coming very soon (end of this month), which is much better and easier to use - so watch out for a post about that.

In the meantime, I would recommend the use of this 3rd party app written by Al Priest (a community member), it is easy to use and won't change when FoxESS release their new app - it is available for Android and iOS

It's available on ios https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/energy-stats/id1644492526 and Android https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... kkgw&pli=1

I'm sorry to say it doesn't mean a lot, it basically uses a cost per kwh for your tariff that you can set up in your account profile and the multiplies it be the amount of energy you produce - it doesn't work so well with multiple tariffs and such - the newer Foxess V2 app which will be released shortly should have a better system to handle this.

Many thanks for the answer, so is it accumulative, and if so from when ?!? Or perhaps I should just ignore it ! Kind regards

It is cumulative yes, it's basically the product of your total yield * the export tariff entered into your site details within the account.

Hi

I have just noticed a link to a user guie on the app 2 itself...
https://www.foxesscloud.com/video/quick ... /guide.mp4

However regarding the 'Total Revenue' figure. I assume it is based on the 'Unit' Income' entered when building the 'Plant' - which an installer woud do
So a User who does not have access to adjust the 'Plant' details would not be able to see what has been set, or indeed change it over time

I have just put in a suggestion to either remove the 'Total Revenue'/ 'Unit Income' parameters, or properly add a way of showing income and export tariff information over time. I believe Fox need to do one or other thing
I have never bothered looking at the figure, as I don't know what was entered by the installer

Cheers all
