Can hybrids be used as AC inverters?

Hi, can we use H-xxx-E models as AC storage inverters to store excess energy from other inverters?
With best regards
Harry

Yes they can be run like that, but with no PV attached.
It's just a more expensive option as they contain a lot of electronics that is used to operate the solar MPPT which obviously won't get used (but would allow future upgrade)

Can you advise how to set this up? I have a H1 3.7 and no PV at the moment. The inverter just says waiting and it feels like its looking for PV. I can't see any settings on inverter to tell it there is no PV.
I was advised from a large UK supplier that I could use this inverter as AC coupled to begin with before adding panels.

If you don’t have PV attached you must be attached to the grid and have a working battery stack, it won’t start up without that.
If it’s saying waiting it’s most likely you haven’t got the BMS/ batteries connected up - as long as it has viable DC power being provided by the batteries and the grid is detected it will start up without needing any PV connections
