Adding EQ4800-S to existing 1Komma5 stack

Hello all,

I'm looking for some guidance. I'm in Australia and bought a 1Komma5 inverter and battery system earlier this year.

I'm looking to upgrade the stack to add a couple of additional battery modules but the price differential between the 1K5 slave units and the EQ4800-S is like 3x the price. Looking at the datasheets, dimensions and as many resources as I can, the modules look identical and have the same specs. The 1K5 battery is made in the FoxESS factory and has Fox stamps / stickers on the side. Both units support CAN bus as well.

Has anyone had any experience of adding a FoxESS EQ4800-S onto an existing stack of 1K5 batteries and does it cause any issues?

Thanks in advance.

Ian

I don’t have any experience to confirm the battery, I know the 1k5 is a Fox (H3 smart) inverter that has modified firmware to report itself uniquely as a 1k5-HI-xx-V1 inverter.

Looking at the battery specs, they actually show it as an EQ4800 under ‘Display’ which appears to corroborate what you are thinking - so hopefully someone will have tried this and can confirm, or you can find a supplier that would do a sale or return on a battery for you to test it.
