Octopus off board VPP control

Hi folks,

I switched yesterday from intelligent octopus tariff onto intelligent Go tariff and they’ve told me it could take up to 2 weeks for them to release from VPP control on my battery and inverter! This seems madness to me and it’s stopping me from charging my battery overnight and now I’m paying for more expensive daytime use! Are they having me on? I’ve called fox and they say there is nothing they can do. This tech is amazing when it works but sorting out problems is a nightmare. I just can’t understand how clever IT systems can take 2 weeks to disconnect!

Any help would be appreciated as I’m stuck at moment.

Thanks James

What happens if you open the Octopus App, and go to Devices, can it be removed?

Hi, it’s removed there, but it won’t let me remove on Fox app as it says octopus are in control of the VPP. Madness I think it is. Octopus say they have disconnected it but takes up to 2 weeks to take effect!

So that must mean I’m not using the Go tariff even though they say I’m now on it.

Our EV charged during night but smart meter display says the cost is the old tariff rate.

Your App will show tariff you are on, usually applied same day.

Typically, Octopus often take a few days to update things, this month I didn't get billed for any electric, only 'new/changed' thing was getting 1hr of free electric, that took ages to get credited. Check back in a few days to see if the data get's corrected.

Yea, the octopus app is correct, what I’m saying is that they haven’t removed their control of my Fox battery and inverter from the tariff I came off so I have no control of the battery to force charge it overnight on the low 8p tariff. Octopus app is on one tariff and battery, inverter and my actual usage is still on old tariff I’ve come off!

It’s totally confusing as there is a Forced discharge to grid now during peak time even though our EV charged on a cheap rate half an hour octopus dropped in yesterday. So on the one hand the Go tariff is working and on the other our old peak discharge tariff is working!!
