Maintaining a forced discharge

After a forced discharge to 15%, what would be the best follow on state to maintain 15%? I assume feed in priority but presumably if the battery dropped below 15% it wouldn't top back up. Is there something that can be achieved using backup?

If you wish to access the remaining 5%, then 'feed-in' mode would be your best bet. Just note that if there is solar, then the KH will trickle some power into the battery, so your SoC will increase over time.

That's what I'm looking to avoid.Once it reaches 15%, I want it to stay there or there abouts. If there is 0 solar I can adjust the discharge rate in order to reach the desired SOC within a specified time window. What I can't do without micro managing it is maintain it at or around 15% because once the target is achieved, I need to select a desired state. That's why I wondered if a forced discharge followed by feed in priority would achieve that albeit maybe with some small additional loss if the solar cannot meet the demands of my home during that period but presumably would not further charge the battery.

I did a little experiment yesterday.
After dark I set up a forced discharge with end state set as feed in priority.
At min SOC the discharge ended and because there was no solar, my home ran off the battery in preference to the grid which is as I had expected and hoped.

Yup, as mentioned previously if there is solar, in 'Feed-in' mode it will trickle power into the battery, so after dark you are fine.

At least you now have the evidence, if you ran experiment at peak solar, it will gain % SoC.

Why would any go to battery at peak solar if the option is to prioritise feed in or by trickle are you talking of a few watts?

My system capacity is 7KW so if solar was generating that and the home was using say 300w, wouldn't 6.7KW just get exported?

Dunno why, but Will has mentioned this in the past in a post somewhere. Not sure if a bug or feature that cannot be corrected, but the KH series* seems to leak solar into the battery, even during 'feed-in' work mode.

Also, even during 'feed-in' or even a 'force discharge' the battery WILL be charged if your PV generation is above your export limit/house load. Example, if you was making 4kW solar, and you have 1kW house load, and an export limit of say 2kW, then 1kW will be charged into the battery, yes even with a 'force discharge' (unless you disable the PV in the scheduler AFAIK)
