Northern Power using Temporary Generator to provide power to my community

Good Afternoon
Power to my community will be supplied by temporary generators until 31st July (o/h lines being replaced by underground cables).
Last nigh the generator failed, the Grid provider this said it was due to Solar systems feeding back into the system which tripped the generator.
It failed at just after 20:00, my system was 100% not exporting at that time and I doubt if any others were.
Grid provider then sent a text message asking solar System owners to "turn off your system while the generator is being used to avoid further outages".
They want everyone to turn off their systems for 28 days !
Most solar system owners have said "not doing it".
There was zero pre-advice re the generator or potential solar conflicts.
Rather than turn off the whole system and incur additional costs, is there any way to instruct the inverter to not export.
If this is possible system can stay on, provide power during the day and charge the battery, the only cost being the lost export.
My system seems to suggest this can be done by the installer or yourselves.

Please let me know.

Many thanks

With all the VPP controlled inverters, it’s possible they wouldn’t know about local disruptions and may be force discharging batteries to balance grid demand ?

If you are not VPP controlled, make sure you are not running schedules and are set to Self Use, then on the inverter panel go into Settings (password=0,0,0,0), on-grid, Export Control and set the Export Power limit to 0.
With that setting the inverter will not be able to output to the grid until you change it back.

Hi

Thanks for the reply I'll give that a go tomorrow.
All day today, very sunny, multiple systems all exporting and the temporary generator has ran all day no problems.
So I suspect that Northern Powers explanation for yesterday's failure being the various solar systems exporting (at 20:00 mine was 100% not exporting), was a convenient excuse.
One resident was told the generator had run out of fuel, which seems a much more likely explanation.
Most solar owners have said they will not turn their systems off unless Northern Power offer suitable compensation for the extra cost incurred and loss of revenue.
But another text was issued again today asking solar owners to turn off their systems whilst the generator is being used (28 days).
It is clear now that they have disconnected the former o/h systems before the "new" underground system has been installed in the empty conduit they installed last year, hence the lengthy need (until 31st July) of the generator.
This to most people seems to be back to front.
