Hey Everyone,

Just have some questions about force charging and discharging.

My interver breaker recently caught fire and the installer insists it wasnt because of how they wired it.

they are claiming its because i used the force charge and discharge in mode scheduler.

My question is, could i have used this feature wrong?

I have 2 scheudles set.

11am-2pm force charge at 9.5kwh
6pm-8pm force discharge at 9.5kw

I have a kh10 inverter and 42kw EQ4800. My power is single phase.

is it possible i have over loaded something?

A KH10 can both import (battery charge) and export (PV or force discharge) at a maximum power of 10kW - there are many reasons why it could be lower than that but that is the maximum the system is rated for and so unless there are some other special mitigating circumstances your wiring and breakers should be rated to handle that power continuously.

It’s not credible to say that you have misused the inverter if it is wired correctly - the only situation I can imagine is where you have a limited house supply and you were taking above this limit - however the inverter has settings to limit the power if needed and the installer is responsible to ensure that cannot happen.

To answer the question with absolute certainty we would need to know which breaker was damaged, what it’s rating is and where it was fitted - but there should be no way that the inverter can do this if installed and setup correctly.
