CT Clamp or Smart Meter (DDSU666)

Hi,

I am getting KH10, EQ4800-L9 and panels installed. It will all be DC coupled. My question is about whether the supplied CT Clamp (provided with KH10), is 100% compatible with all the CloudVersion2 functions as well as all the AMBER Smart Shift functionality (including solar curtailment function). Or should I get a Smart Meter like DDSU666 or use the existing Fronious Smart Meter (I have existing Fronious kit which is being removed). I guess what I am asking is whether to go standard CT Clamp or Smart Meter like DDSU666 (or use existing Fronious Smart Meter). What are the thoughts out there?

It makes no difference to the functions of the inverter, there are pro’s and cons for both - the CT comes with the KH as standard it’s accuracy is usually within 2% (a meter is a bit better).
Main difference is cabling distances a CT cable should really be kept short ~ 10 metres (max 20m but accuracy will fall), a meter can be cabled over large distances without loss of accuracy or function.

If you have no distance constraints, go with the CT.
