New F3600 inverter fitted

Hi we had our inverter fitted back end of last year and can no longer get in touch with the installer. The inverter is in our roof space ad due to a broken shoulder I’ve never been up to see his work since it was done.

I’m better now and have been up to look at it today and it’s got an error on the screen it says SCI Commfault I doubt very much this has ever worked.

I did a bit of research and it would seem that I need a firmware update I notice it has cloud or USB connectivity I wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction to get this up and running?

It would be worth trying a complete power off by isolating both the grid and solar at the same time (or at night just open the AC breaker).
If it fails to recover it’s likely a firmware problem that is causing it, the F series isn’t usually fitted with a datalogger as standard - if you can see the inverter the datalogger is plugged in on the bottom of the inverter just to the right of the mid line, if it’s there you should see a red light flashing on it.

If there is no datalogger fitted in all honesty it would be much easier for an installer to resolve this for you, if you can’t get in touch you would need to find out which version of the datalogger the inverter takes by looking at the ‘wifi/gprs/lan’ connector on the bottom of the inverter, more likely it’s a USB but you’ll need to know for sure.

Alternatively you could try contacting Fox as they ‘can’ send firmware out on a USB stick and for that all you would need to do is plug it in and follow their instructions.

Just to double check (as there is a seperate USB port as well), this is likely the layout of your F series connectors, and it’s connector ‘G’ that may also be a USB type.

I’ll have to double check tomorrow but I’m pretty sure that’s the layout but without connection G will take a few extra photos
