Can't connect to network
Hi

I changed broadband provider 2 weeks ago and was unable to reset my SSID and passwords to the ones I've had for 25 years, so all my home smart devices stopped working. Unfortunately, on the same day, my Dad went into hospital and then passed away, so I've been away from home for most of that time.

My solar system was originally connected to the new network, but has now stopped connecting and I'm struggling to reconnect.

Inverter - H1-3.7-E-G2
Battery - EP11

I have managed to find the Inverter ID in my network list and connect my phone to it, but from there, it doesn't seem to want to find the home network. I have a different name for the 2.4GHz network, so that I know which it is, but I'm having the same problem with other smart devices in that I can connect to the device, but it won't then connect to the home network and allow me to change the password.

The red light on the wifi connector on my system is flashing red.

Any tips on how to reconnect are gratefully received. The weather here was OK over the weekend, but it's overcast now and I need to boost the battery overnight to get some cheap power.

Thanks
Maureen
Re: Can't connect to network
Hi Maureen, have a look at this video which explains how to connect the wifi datalogger - it can be a little difficult but this first video goes through the steps you may be familiar with viewtopic.php?t=970, this second video is the more up to date way of doing this and so it might be better for you to watch this and try it this way first. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/lyGWO9s1M2w

The red light on the datalogger will flash rapidly red if it isn't connected, but (confusingly) it is ok if it flashes slowly approx every second followed by a green flash every 30 seconds or so.

It is possible to set a charge period at the inverter screen if you get stuck with the wifi, let me know how you get on and i'll provide more information on that if you need it.
Re: Can't connect to network
Thanks very much, Dave. I'll check these out when I get home and see if I can sort it. I'm so frustrated that the new broadband router seems to not put out a decent 2.4GHz signal for devices to find. Normally, I have all my kit up and running within hours of changing providers, but this time it's just been a huge pain. Not being home in daylight doesn't help!!!

Re: Can't connect to network
I've tried pretty much everything - I can connect to my router on the house network and I can connect to the inverter network on my ohone or tablet, but that network won't connect to the router and find the house network.

I've been out with a head torch to try and set a charge period, with no luck, but that's just a nice to have at the moment.

As the inverter is right outside the window next to a network switch, can I run a wired connection just to get me back on speaking terms with the inverter and turn on my dormant early morning charging session? I can run the appliances overnight for now, and know that the battery will charge on cheap rate then top up with any tiny amount of sunshine that may occur.

Re: Can't connect to network
Sadly there's no way to run an ethernet cable to the inverter without replacing your wifi datalogger with a LAN variant.

I'd suggest power cycling the datalogger, it is sometimes needed when wifi is changed - you unscrew the collar, pull it down, leave it 10 seconds and then re-plug it in and tighten the collar. - once that's done try again to join your network.

Failing that i'd suggest getting one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08V5J8MMT?th=1, you basically connect it to your existing wifi as a repeater, but set an ssid name that is different 'inverter' and configure it so that it only transmits on 2.4Ghz. (i've used one for years for exactly this)

If you have schedules running, you won't be able to set a charge period on the inverter panel, and you can't reset your schedules without a cloud connection... yep well thought out I know. If you don't have schedules running, you go into the inverter Settings, Work Mode, Charge Time and you will see the 2 charge periods P1/P2, you set the time for a period then set the switch to say 'En' (enabled). (see attached settings for 23:30 to 05:29 note you can set it to run through midnight at the inverter panel)

Re: Can't connect to network
Hurrah, success! I think daylight, lack of rain and standing a foot away, rather than sitting 6 ft away inside a dry house because it's dark out are the key ingredients here.

Dave, many thanks for your help. At least that's one thing on my list sorted.

Great, glad that's sorted.

Best wishes
