My battery was installed on Thursday and initially seemed to be fine. It is now showing as offline and it seems impossible to work out how to get it online. I have tried through the app and also switching it off and restarting it yet it remains stubbonly offline. There is a 10 day wait time for tech support!!

Where exactly are you seeing the words off-line, is it the battery, the inverter ? - can you post a screenshot please.

I have reset everything and the battery ststus is now showing as Online which is progress. The inverter now says there is a CODE 14 Fault - communication fault between battery and device.

I have no idea how to rectify this. The battery did take a charge from the mains when installed but is now completely discharged. Online comments about CODE 14 is to check the cabling but that does not seem to apply here.

There is unquestionably no comms between the inverter and battery looking at those screen shots which confirms the code 14 error.

You haven’t said which battery model you have, but they all have a communications cable that runs from the battery and to the BMS connector underneath the inverter - that should be pressed firmly home at both ends as should the DC cables (they should snap into place). EPx batteries should have terminators called parallel plugs fitted into the link in and link out ports (unless you have multiple EP batteries).

It would be a good idea to shut down and restart the system in sequence, that involves switching off both the PV and AC to the inverter, then power off the battery. Wait for the inverter screen to go blank, then reverse the process by powering on the battery which if working correctly will wake the inverter up, then power on the AC and PV.

If the error still persists, given such a new install you will need to call your installer to check the installation and connectors are correct.
