Strange inverter behaviour

Had a system installed in February. Everything going well until the past week or so when the inverter has just started doing stupid things. For example, yesterday it was in self-use work mode, max SoC 100% min SoC 10%. The sun was shining, generating 2.5kW, and battery was charging. When battery reached exactly 60%, inverter decided to hold charge and export the rest. Kept on 60% until the sun went down, discharged naturally to 32% by mid-afternoon. At which point the inverter decided to start charging the battery from the grid.
Contacted the installer yesterday and they said they were seeing a lot of this with the latest firmware updates. They also said they have "updated your app at our end", which seems unlikely. I also don't see any recent firmware updates in the history.
