Thanks, it’s more the physical installation part I’m stuck on rather than the home assistance end

Which inverter is it ?

This is a good wiring guide and covers the majority of inverter types https://github.com/nathanmarlor/foxess_ ... ring-Guide

It’s a H1 I think. Do I need a professional or can I do myself?

If your reasonably handy you should be ok doing it your self, the meter connector doesn't have any high voltages in it but it can be a bit tricky to open on some inverters and the CT clamp cable is wired in there, the wires are thin and sometimes break - but the pinouts are shown in that guide and if you are careful and go easy you should be fine doing it.

The main thing is to make sure you isolate the inverter, solar panels and batteries before you start and give yourself a couple of hours to add the new RS485 cable - you might do it quicker but it's best to take your time particularly if you've not done it before.

It's not really what i'd call an electricians job (buy they can do it), more an IT/ technical sort of task.
