LV5200 max expansion - 4 or 12 batteries?

Hi,

Currently have 4 x LV5200 batteries giving me a 20.48kwh capacity. Can I add more? The spec sheet shows 20.48 as the max expansion, but the user manual indicates (and the dip switches cater for) expansion up to 12 batteries. Which is correct?

Cheers, Jerry

Update...

Found two versions of the spec sheet:

V2.0, dated 04/11/20 shows 20.48kwh (i.e. 4 batteries) max
V3.2, dated 22/03/23 shows 61.44kwh (i.e. 12 batteries) max

My batteries are from 2022 & 2023 and the manual shows the dip switch settings for 12 batteries, so I guess (hope) I can add more as required up to 12. Perhaps the BMS has been changed since 2020 to manage more batteries?

To close this question...

Having chased my ticket with Fox support, they have confirmed that 12 x LV5200 batteries can be connected in parallel. They didn't, however, confirm if it was only from a certain serial number onwards or with a specific firmware version that 12 instead of 4 was supported.

Hi Jerry,

Did you get this working ?

I have 5 and I am only getting the max of 4 I think going on the battery charge and discharge figures, maybe I have older batteries / firmware.

Thanks

Ian

Hi Ian,

I haven't got another battery yet, so am still on 4. How old are your batteries? The data sheet from November 2020 shows max 4 batteries and the data sheet showing max 12 is dated March 2022. My batteries are quite new - after March 2022 so I think I'll be OK. If yours are older then try contacting Fox support and see if they 'should' support more than 4 and if not, if there's a firmware upgrade available for the BMS that would allow it. Failing that, new BMS hardware may be needed which may or may not be possible to retro-fit.

Good luck, Jerry
