Hi,

I have a H1 G2 6kW and I am looking at increasing capacity. One option is to replace with a single larger inverter but I would rather add a second inverter. I know you can add another identical inverter in parallel but can you add a difference capacity inverter of the same family so still an H1 G2 but a 5kW or 2x 3.7kW for example?

As long as they are the same model number that supports parallel you can have different ratings i.e. an H1 (G2) 6kW and an H1(G2) 3.7kW, or a KH7 with a KH9 etc... - I just think from a balance perspective it's better to be similar but it works fine.

Also worth adding the battery stacks are recommended as being of similar size but again 'slightly' different capacities will work.

Probably also worth mentioning, a larger inverter does take more power to run but usually less than 2 smaller inverters running in parallel - arguably it's a very small number, tens of watts per hour (every hour) and EPS etc.. are easier to wire with a single.
