Grid input at 0kw all day
Hi,

I have had my solar panels for 2 weeks and I seem to have an issue today and can’t understand what’s happened or what the issue is.

My grid input/output has been at 0kw all day even though I have been charging an electric car and had home appliances etc.

I haven’t seen this before so I am slightly concerned, I am new to this so I am a total novice, I have provided some images, if anyone can help that will be hugely appreciated.

Re: Grid input at 0kw all day
That looks to me as if the Manager on the inverter has crashed - the manager is responsible for all the high level stuff such as reporting and schedules and it may have stopped running which is why you aren’t seeing any stats.

You’ll need to shutdown and restart your inverter, the basic process for that is -

Isolate PV (solar)
Isolate AC breaker
Power off battery

Wait for inverter screen to go blank and reverse the process

Power on battery
Close AC breaker
Close PV isolator

After a few minutes of checking the inverter should return to normal mode and if you check your statistics after 5 minutes it should be reporting again.

There is a video here that explains some of the components and may help https://foxesscommunity.com/viewtopic.php?t=5

It’s worth checking your firmware versions as there have been a number of fixes in recent releases that may stop this happening but we can run through checking them once you are back up and running

Hi Dave,

Thank you for replying.

I have tried all of these steps and have had no luck.

I have since found error codes 1, 26 &27.

I have tried looking online for a fix and the inly one i could find is the video that you shared and have attempted.
Re: Grid input at 0kw all day
If you are receiving all of those errors together then it is not detecting grid voltage - if they occur when your switch off the system then they are expected but if it occurred when the system stopped working it usually means that a breaker or RCD has tripped or is faulty - it’s also possible that there is a connection problem which will require your installer to resolve.

I’d start with all of the obvious things, are there are breakers or rcd’s that are open ?

Also worth checking the inverter is running, if you press and hold the ‘tick’ button (3rd from left) and it says ‘Start’ then release the tick and press it again and the inverter should start - if it says ‘Stop’ then the inverter thinks it’s already running in which case don’t press the tick again or it will stop the inverter.

Good Morning,

Everything looks as it should be unless I am missing something. I will provide some images.

Thank you for your help Richard 👏

Re: Grid input at 0kw all day
Yes that all looks ok, and the inverter panel is showing it is running in 'Normal' the output power is good as is the battery soc - and hopefully your app is now showing sensible information.
Re: Grid input at 0kw all day
Hi Richard,

I have just looked at a video and it said to make sure “meter c/t” setting had “CT” active and it wasn’t it was on disable so I enable “C/t” and it looks to have fixed the issue ….although I am intrigued as to how this was disabled….it looks to be working now

Re: Grid input at 0kw all day
That would have been my next thing to check :)

i’ve not seen it for a while but it ‘sometimes’ happens after a new install and/or when the firmware is updated for the first time. The CT clamp measures the load and the inverter cannot balance correctly without it so the battery won’t get used other than to keep it running overnight.

The good news is that it’s a one time event and should never happen again, so hopefully you’ll now have many years of trouble free running.

Thank you so much for your help and time Richard 👍
