Hi,

I am trying to find out what my ACTUAL PV generation is and have 3 questions. I am not knowledgeable on the background electrical or technology side of things so simple explanations would be really appreciated.

I have a 7-panel string connected to a Fox F3600 Inverter with a dongle. This is connected to a Fox Hybrid/AC Inverter Model: AC1-5.0-E-G2 with a dongle and batteries attached.

Q1. The Fox Cloud App, states for the F3600 inverter, Today PV Yield is 4.7kWh. Can I assume that is my ACTUAL PV Generation since the F3600 is only managing the 7 panels?
Q2 What does the dongle on the F3600 do and what is it talking to?
Q3 On the EnergyStats App I cannot see any PV Generation data. Under Summary it says “ Your inverter doesn’t store PV generation data so we can’t show historic data”. Does this mean I can only have ESTIMATED PV Generation data?

Any help and guidance would be really appreciated.

If you have the Hybrid selected within ES then you'll only see stats for that inverter. Try selecting the F3600 inverter within ES from the inverter dropdown on the power flow page, then look at the stats tab.

Thank you, that got me part way there. The Flow screen for the inverter looks good, but the Summary screen is zero. See attachments, is there something else I need to do?

ES only shows power flow / stats for the currently selected inverter and with no stats for the F3600 that explains why ES cannot show you any solar stats. I suspect that your hybrid inverter takes the feed via CT2 which Fox don't hold stats for like they do house load, battery discharge etc.

So in summary I'm not sure how the Fox app is showing you a value for PV, but i've never been able to see stats for a connected inverter. If you want to email me from within the ES app (settings > contact) with your API key I can take a look at the actual data Fox are returning for your installation and see if there's something I can change in the app.
