Hi there,
recently had a new solar system with a Foxess inverter installed. The foxcloud2 app doesn't show me my load/usage.
The installer tells me I now need to spend $500 to get them to install a Chint smart metre to make this happen. Is this true? TIA. Sharon

Hi yes if this is a solar only inverter such as an F/S or T series the inverter does not provide any information about load or grid consumption without the optional meter (Chint) or a CT clamp fitted.

I can’t specifically comment on the price but in Europe the Chint meter is approx £100 ($130) plus a few small materials (~$50) and the time to install.
