Wiring for EV charge point

Hi I’ve took the plunge and have decided to get an EV. My question is about the wiring for the EV charge point, probably will get Zappi. Anyway I’ve seen a few options for the configuration of CT clamps and Henley block. Which is the optimal solution so that the battery does not discharge when charging the EV but also allows me utilize the solar for house and the EV. Attached are a couple of pics, one with a Henley block and CT clamp segregating the EV and one with 2 CT clamps without HENLEY block.

Any advise appreciated thanks

You want the second option with the Henley block that splits the feed before the inverter/consumer unit, that way the house load will not be affected by the EV and nor will the battery be discharged when the EV is discharging - however the EV can still make use of export to charge.

In the first option the EV will be seen as house load and the inverter will attempt to meet the demand, discharging your battery when the EV charges - you can set charge periods to avoid that happening but it’s an accident waiting to happen.
