V2 BMS and Batteries

As we know the HV2600 battery is being updated to include a new comms chip (due to chip shortages) which means that a BMS upgrade is required to use V2 batteries going forward.
FoxESS are running an RMA process to replace free to charge any customers who have a V1 BMS or HV2600 and now require a V2 BMS due to adding extra V2 HV2600's.
Has anyone yet received a V2 BMS or V2 HV2600? If so please post a picture of the front of the unit so we can add it to the knowledgebase.

Hi Will
I’m about to order another 2 HV2600 batteries and have been told by a supplier that there are no V1 left any longer so will receive V2. They also pointed out I’d need a BMS V2 to run them.
My question is this; I’ve read that Fox are exchanging BMS V1 for V2 free of charge but I’ve also read that a remote firmware upgrade is possible. Surely a firmware upgrade is far less trouble and inconvenience, if indeed this is possible?
If I do need to replace my BMS will I need to return the existing one before Fox ship a the new one?
Thanks for the community forum, it’s a great idea

My fox contact recently confirmed that remote flashing won't work and a V2 BMS will be required. If you have a different experience we'd love to hear about it.

How can I tell what version BMS I have?
I'm considering adding more HV2600 batteries to my pile. Given that new batteries require Fox HV BMS V2 how can I tell if I currently (heh!) V1 or V2? My installation was only couple of weeks ago so there is a (slim) possibility I may already have V2.

As no V2's have yet landed in the UK, it's 99.999999% likely you have a V1.

Greetings
I purchased a 5.7 system from The battery factory in September and to date have not been able to commission the system.
The batteries were low in charge and so far have abot 20 volts each. The BMS does not boot up.
I am waiting for a replacement BMS but what voltage does it need to function.
Both the 2 HV2600s and the BMS have a white label "version D"
I also notice that there is no Battery Awaken Breaker. Is this no longer included.
So the question is how do I get this system to start?

Can you upload a photo of the BMS?
Normally HV2600 are around 53volts. 20 voltages sounds like permanent damage has occurred.
I assume you have the BMS connected to an inverter right? then you set the dip switches to the correct dip position, turn on the main MCB breaker and then press the silver power button on the BMS. Then I would tell your inverter to do a force charge asap.

That's the problem. With two batteries in series the voltage is about 50 volts so the batteries are part discharged.
Connecting to the HV1 inverter and powering on gives zero result so no communication to the inverter. so is there a minimum voltage required to power the BMS?
Also checking behind the cover of the "Battery awaken breaker shows a large space. Is this an omission or does this BMS now have no breaker?
So no BMS, no chance to charge the batteries. No response from Fox so altogether rather a poor purchase

Can you upload/attach a photo of your full setup?

Sorry, not sure why.
two hv2600 connected in series to BMS connected to AC 3-7 Hybrid inverter.
All installed as per Fox videos and manual.
question does you bms have the Battery awaken breaker?

Battery awaken breaker should be turned off and the cover should be closed flush with the bms.

if combine they're at 50volts and they should be more like 100ish volts this is likely why the system is dead. I bet it's expecting 100v minimum as it requires 2 battery units.

Just wanted to confirm the HV2600 batteries and BMS came new from a fox supplier right? If it did then I would contact your supplier and if required foxess support.

Yes it did an they are impossible and evasive.
and, by the way no response from Fox support
I would not recommend "The Battery Factory" or Fox ESS

Hi
I have just had collected my 4x HV2600 and BMS on Friday.
After setting everything up as instructed I was getting a BMS alarm and fault on the cloud.
I looked over the batteries I realised one of them hadn’t woken up. All voltages were as expected.
Looking at the labels 3x had Ver.D and 1x didn’t.
After removing the battery I noticed it had a label on the side at the rear showing V2
I guess that I have been delivered 3x HV2600 and BMS are V1 and 1 battery is a V2.
I have spoken to my installer and he is going to contact his supplier on Monday.
Please see pictures.
I hope is of some use.

Is this also for Energy Cube? I have a setup of 1 CM4100 with 4 CS4100 slaves. But I want to add two more slaves but now there is only V2 available. Does Fox replaces the CM or is it different cells also?

I have recently spoken to Fox ESS UK support to get a firmware update and during the call, was told that the RMA solution to swap out the V1 BMS with a V2 due to unavailability of V1 batteries, is no longer active.
Apparently, V1 batteries will be re-eleased this year and if you need to change to V2 batteries, you, the customer, will need to purchase a V2 BMS.

From what I have read I think the remote firmware upgrade is for the Inverter.

I see people say that Fox will replace, free of charge, a V1 BMS for a V2 in order to increase battery capacity with mixed batteries.
Can someone post a link, email address or telephone number to contact Fox? I've tried emailing a few times and never get a response so some positive and complete info would be very helpful.
Also, maybe I'm getting old but I'm finding negotiating the site very difficult. There seem to be so many subjects and sub subjects! I hope I can find my way back to this page!
Thanks in anticipation. I know people are trying to help so this isn't a moan but emailing and hoping isn't yielding any results.

Hi George, unfortunately the BMS swap out period closed at the end of last year - if you want to add more V2 batteries you will need to buy the V2 BMS, it’s not that expensive and if you can sell your old one on ebay or similar almost a zero sum.
