Hi all,

I had a 10.6kW solar system with a single-phase 10kW FoxESS inverter installed yesterday.

The inverter came with a Wi-Fi module, which the installer plugged in after the install was completed. This morning, I downloaded the FoxCloud 2.0 app and successfully connected the Wi-Fi adapter to my home network.

However, I’m a bit confused by the data I'm seeing today (and I’ve been checking it every 10 minutes!).

The app is reporting a very high LOAD for my house, which I know isn’t accurate. For example, see this screenshot:

It shows a load of 3.07kW, but that’s just not possible—nothing major is running aside from a few essentials (fridges, some LED lights, and my PC).

I have plug-level energy monitors across the house and regularly cross-check with AGL smart meter data, which consistently shows much lower usage. Here are some screenshots for comparison:

My actual consumption is around 0.5kWh at night and 1–1.5kWh during the day. I get that 3.07kW is a momentary reading, but I’ve also seen it spike to 4kW+, which simply doesn’t align with my actual usage.

Has anyone else experienced similar discrepancies with FoxESS / FoxCloud? How is the LOAD calculated in first place?

Is there something I might be missing in the setup or configuration?

Readings like this (on new systems) are usually as a result of an incorrectly fitted / located CT clamp, you do get spikes but the data sampling is every 5 minutes and so you wouldn’t expect what you are seeing - we need a bit more information, as it is not showing a battery, is this a solar only inverter or a hybrid ?, are there are any other sources of solar generation.?.

If solar only, has it got a CT clamp or meter fitted as without that the load cannot be calculated properly.

Yes solar only and yes CT clamp is installed.
