Fun with figures.

Hi all,
I have rec'd my G98 approval today and am considering various SEG options...I'd like to work out a ballpark figure for export to the grid since install on 15th April as OVO, my installer, will credit SEG from time of install.
Looking at the V2 app, the PV Generation Meter and my smart meter there seems to be a variation in numbers that I'm struggling to understand.
V2 indicates I've sent 177 kWh to the grid and imported 8.4 kWh lifetime total.
Emlite PV Generation Meter has export of 296.1 kWh, import of 4.8 kWh, net 291.3 kWh.
Import of electricity from Octopus from install on 15th April to now is 18 kWh.
Any help with understanding the above gratefully received, thanks in anticipation.
Paul

You'll need a few days worth of statistics to check on and be specific when you choose the period measure a day at a time is best until you have a months data then work at that level - the best place to refer to is your smart meter (or Octopus) as that is the precise number for import and export (and what you will be billed on) - the V2 app should get reasonably close with your load, grid use and export but it will never be as accurate as the smart meter (~5% depending on your house loads).

The generation meter in all honesty in my opinion is next to useless, it's a fallback to solar only inverters on the old Fit scheme, with a hybrid inverter it shows all output (which could have come from solar, grid or battery) and export as a total over time.

Thanks very much, Dave.
I found out how to check the export reading on my Landis & Gyr smart meter (via the e.on next SEG application form) and it tallies very closely indeed to the V2 app.
All I need to do is find an SEG tariff that will credit back to the time of install, other than OVO, who have no import tariff of use!
