Adding slaves to stack

Hi everyone, so i bought a 10.5 kh and 3 ecs 4300s last year. Its a great system. I want to add 2 new slave 4300s. I havent updated anything since the system was installed so they are a few updates behind. My question is, is it better to leave them as i bought them, install the new slaves then update everything together. Or, update what i have, then update the new slaves when they are installed? I will purchase exactly the same version and connector as the ones i have now so compatibility shouldnt be a problem. With knowing very little about solar in general, the word "updates" worries me a little! lol! Thanks.
