How to Access RS485 Data from FoxESS Inverter Even When It’s Off?

Hi everyone,
I need some help regarding data access from my FoxESS T-series inverter. My installer connected the inverter to a CHINT DTSU666 meter using the RS485 interface. I’d like to also use the RS485 data for Home Assistant to monitor energy usage.
Problem:
I understand that RS485 is currently being used for communication between the meter and the inverter.
Is it possible to add a device (like an RS485 to USB or RS485 to TCP/IP converter) to access the data directly without interrupting the existing communication?
Main concern:
What happens when the inverter is turned off? Can I still access the meter’s data through RS485? If not, what setup would I need to ensure continuous access, even when the inverter is offline?
Possible solution:
Would an RS485 splitter or hub work in this scenario? Any recommendations on specific devices or setups?
I’m not a technician, so I’d appreciate simple explanations or diagrams, if possible.
Thanks in advance for your help!
This should help you gather ideas and advice from the FoxESS community. Would you like me to assist in posting it or refine it further?
