F5000 inverter doesn’t come on

I’ve just installed a solar system along with an F5000 inverter. All wiring has been checked multiple times. The inverter has AC coming to its AC plug. However, it seems the inverter is dead. We’ve connected the AC and DC up according to the manual but the inverter doesn’t want to power up. Any ideas? It’s as if the inverter is DOA. Unless we’re missing something very simple that isn’t mentioned in the manual.

The inverter will only power up when there is PV power provided so make sure the pv isolator including the one on the inverter are turned on.

Ok. Good, that may well explain it then, as currently it’s night time and it looks dead, no lcd display, no led, nothing.

How much power do the panels need to produce for it to turn on?

They’ve got to be above the startup voltage (120V) and also generating enough power > 50~100 watts

String 1 is 259v and 1.5amps
String 2 is 110v and 0.5amps

The inverter is still not coming on.

the isolator under the inverter is on right?

Yes. All AC and DC isolators are on. I’ve confirmed there’s 240v at the plug that goes into the inverter.

try holding the select button on the front panel down to enable power on mode. I think it's 10 or 15seconds you hold it for.

Held the button down for about 30 seconds. Still the inverter is not coming on.

I’ve got to the bottom of it. Someone in work had put the multimeter probes in the wrong way around, which meant I’d wired up the DC plugs up the wrong way around.

I knew it would be something simple.

Great to hear it's sorted.
