RCD for H1 G2

Post by mjstrens »

My (H1 G2 + EP11) installer has connected to an existing ac type rcd in the Consumer Unit, shared with household circuits. It's been tripping. There is a long armoured ac run from inverter to CU. Looking at regs and manual the options seem to be:
1.Dedicated A type rcd in CU
2. Dedicated RCBO in CU
3. MCB only, no rcd in CU
Any suggestions please as to which of these options are acceptable and reliable.

What size is your inverter and the breaker, it might be over loading not RCD tripping ?

I’m assuming your CU doesn’t have an RCD for the main switch just a breaker? - in which case a 100mA type A RCBO would be the best fit, otherwise have a separate CU installed for the solar and fit either an RCD or RCBO there.

(3) is a definite no.
