Hi all,

My app keeps showing error 57 every day. The message says: “ Hardware protection for boost current over rating”

One only had the system installed last week. I’ve had software update completed and still having the same issue.

Does anyone know what this code means and how to fix it? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Purvesh

Can you tell me how many of each panel are on each PV string, and do you know whether you have optimisers fitted on any panel.

I ask because the problem is an over-current on the DC supply which can occur when high power panels are used in small numbers (the voltage is lower so the current is higher), and it sounds like it is exceeding the max input for the inverter string inputs (12.5A).

Hi Dave,

Don’t seem to get notifications when a reply is posted even thought I’ve ticked the relevant box. Sorry for the delay in replying.

I don’t know how many panels on each string and I don’t have optimisers. The weird thing is that this error happens daily between 10am-12pm. It just happened now again and it’s so frustrating as the sun is out and the sky is clear and I’m unable to take full advantage of the system.

Yes it’s happening at peak power from your solar panels, which is normally a hardware problem with too many panels - but your system isn’t that large - funnily enough I heard yesterday that someone else who had this very same fault and contacted FoxESS support and it was corrected by a remote firmware upgrade. I would recommend you call Fox uk support (0161 907 4742 ), explain the fault and hopefully it’s a quick fix :)
