Hello all
I have moved into a new property that has solar & battery setup. After spending quite a few weeks getting Octopus to put me on the Flux tariff, my electricity usage still seemed very high and so I wanted to check the settings on the invertor (after carrying out some online searches). Online or via App seems to be the best way to check/amend settings but I am failing at the first stage - my serial number is not being recognised.
I am scanning both the label on the side of the invertor (with QR code) and also trying the QR code on the dongle, but both give an error saying that the S/N is not valid. Would this be because the previous owner has signed up using this S/N? If so, how do I go about changing this for my details?
To add to the problem, the installation company now seems to have gone out of business (and the Fox support number gives a standard message, advising end-users to go to their installer for help).
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards
Jeff C
It’s probably still registered to the original owner - did they leave you their username / password anywhere by chance.
Failing that you will need to email Fox service with your inverter serial number (not the data logger sn) explain you are a new owner as they will have to de-register and re-register the account. service.uk@fox-ess.com

Hi Dave
The customer services team confirmed that the S/N was still bound to the previous owner.
I have quickly setup via the App but have not had time to set any parameters at all. Hopefully I can login online and make some amendments.
Thanks for the reply.

Hi, where could we ask to register the new owner as same scenario with you.
I have transfer my foxess inverter to new house and the tenants want to register but S/N is not pushing through.
Thanks

Follow this link and look for the most local service centre to you - it will be quickey to include your inverter (on the side of the inverter) / datalogger serial number (on the datalogger itself) when you email them.
