Inverters and PV info

Hi,

Just had a new system fitted a couple of weeks ago and I'm confused about the data sent from the inverters to the app and Foxcloud. When I log in to either the app or the cloud website I can only see the PV output of my 2 sets of panels which are connected to the hybrid inverter and not the set connected to the string inverter. So in the screenshot below, only PV1 & PV2 power levels are registering in the graph and PV3 is just a flat line at zero:

The installer explained that the app and Foxcloud only connect to the hybrid inverter (H1-5.0-E-G2). He explained that the string inverter (F3000) then sends its data to the hybrid inverter but the app needs further development before it can show the PV3 output.

Is this correct or is there some way to display the data? Can the string inverter itself be added to the app? I am a little concerned that the installer did not connect up the WiFi dongle (which came in the box) to the string inverter at all.

It would be useful to be able to see the PV outputs of all 3 of my sets of panels (are they called strings or arrays or are the terms interchangeable?) Also, as an IT admin I'm used to seeing the full picture and I hate not being able to check the inverter temperature, firmware, etc, even though I don't know what many of the details mean!

Oh yes, also, with my setup as it currently is, does the figure for "Today Yield" include all 3 sets of panels or just PV1 and PV2?

Thanks in advance

I have essentially the same setup, a H1-5.0-E (Gen 1) and F3600 with another array attached. To see the figures for the F3000 you need a second CT clamp from the H1 to the feed from the F3000. The generation from the F3000 would then show as "Meter2power". The figure will be negative however as it is seen by the inverter as external generation just like the grid.

The app will show the "live" generation correctly with the CT clamp attached, but will not add that generation to any of the figures (production etc). For that you need a dongle on the F3000. The app should show any battery charging by the H1 from the F3000 though.

Honestly though, the modbus route with home assistant is the best way for this. You can also correct the load figures which will be wrong with two inverters (a bug, see my thread "Load Power". Here is how I have it setup for the PV generation (SE array is the H1, NW array the F3600):

Hi,
Many thanks for your reply and apologies for such a late acknowledgement.

So, can I ask please, if I get my installer back to add the dongle to the string inverter, will they know what to do with the CT clamp or do I need further advice on how to connect it all up because it doesn't sound like they've done this before? I wonder if you could knock up a quick diagram or similar please. Sorry to ask.

Regarding the "modbus route", is this a matter of setting up an RS485 connection and following the instructions at https://github.com/nathanmarlor/foxess_modbus? Is this a DIY job or do I need an electrician? I am happy wiring network leads, RJ45s, etc but I have no idea about electrics.

Many thanks.
