Reduced Generation after Firmware Update?

Hi,

I'm a newbie of 2+ months and first of all thank you to all concerned for the videos and for the Energy Stats app - fantastic!
I have been very impressed with the generation levels during the gloomy winter we are having.

After noting my Firmware was not the latest I asked my installer to sort and I was very impressed that in less than half a day the updates showed up in the EnergyStats App.

OLD versions: Manager 1.17 Slave 1.02 Master 1.14
NEW versions: Manager 1.48 Slave 1.02 Master 1.31

My question is this:
Since the update, my generation over the last 2 days is very low, about 25% of what I would have expected from my daily experience over the previous 2.5 winter months. I assume that I should have rebooted the system following the firmware updates. Should I reboot the Inverter and Batteries only or recycle the entire system? Or could the update have changed any other settings?

Thanks for any advice..

Hi, can you just double check your slave version, with the latest firmware I would expect to see 1.03 ?

Your Master/Manager are correct and up to date and I have not heard any adverse reports about generation.

Whenever Master is updated the inverter restarts, but it doesn’t for Manager - it’s only a personal thing but I always do a full shutdown/restart of the system.

If your slave is 1.02, get back in touch with Fox and ask them to update it as that might be having an effect

Many thanks for the swift reply, much appreciated.

I have just rebooted the entire system and confirmed that the slave version is indeed 1.02. I'll ask my installer to get on to Fox first thing Monday.
Let's see what tomorrow's generation brings...

I have a different model - H3-10.0-E - which was updated to the newest firmware (Version_Master = 2.03, Version_Slave = 1.03, Version_ARM = 1.81). I also realized lower values after the update but I found out looking a the detailed production values for the different strings that the value for one string was not correct: it was not showing the real production of that string only but it was the sum of the other string and the string itself. So the other string was included twice in the overall calculation - so unfortunately the lower value is the realistic value

Thanks both, for your suggestions. I have asked for an upgrade to 1.03 as recommended, but as yet it hasn't been done, so didn't report back earlier.

It appears that since the update, the system performs well/as expected on brighter days but the lower-light dawn/dusk PV output is much less than before. I believe that this supports your finding that the previous versions had incorrect calculations/ summation of string outputs which were hightlighted by the low light reporting.

Thanks for raising this, I believe this explains the shortfall.
