Hi all - new user here with a new installation yesterday, details below. I’ve already transferred from Octopus flexible to Flux.

However, my inverter firmware is at Master 1.18, Slave 1.02 and ARM 1.28 - Fox support say that this is the most recent release for a “generation 2” H1.

My H1 has no Ethernet port…..

On foxesscloud.com I have only three options for work mode, Self Use, Feed In Priority and Peak Shaving.

Mode scheduler is disabled in both versions of the Fox app.

This means that none of the useful stuff in this article https://github.com/TonyM1958/HA-FoxESS- ... Work-Modes is available to me, especially forced discharge and scheduling/profiles.

Fox support say that new firmware for gen2 inverters will be released “soon”!

Does this all sound right and/or is anyone else in the same situation?

It seems strange that newer hardware is functionally crippled on release….

Yes that all sounds correct.

The force discharge feature was only released on the H1 (G1) a couple of months ago, followed in late January this year by the KH and H series - there are a couple of small ‘bugs’ that have been fixed and are to be released shortly for the H1 (G1) series and I believe the G2 will follow shortly after that.

Thanks Dave - lets hope that "soon" really means that then - hopefully before we get some proper sun.....

On Octopus Flux I've left things on Self-Use and have set the battery to charge from the grid from 02:05 to 04:55 to get the low import rate, and 13:00 - 15:55 to top up at standard rate before high rate kicks in. I guess this will work while there's not much PV battery charge, and I'll review as things progress..... Does that sound OK for now? I'm still waiting for Octopus to get my Flux export rate set up in any case.....

FoxESS have been really good so far, maybe the odd week here or there slippage so they have taken to saying ‘soon’ rather than release at the end of Feb - quite a bit going on with the V2 app as well which is due for formal release ‘very soon’ ☺️

Yes that sounds fine, hopefully only another 3-4 weeks before you can drop that afternoon charge 👍

Update from Fox ESS support is that new firmware for H1 Gen 2 inverters should be ready by the end of this week (1st March 2024) and to request an update next week :)

Hopefully in time to support the new Octopus Agile functionality coming in Fox ESS app ver 2.0 ;)

I am also very frustratingly in the same situation. Hear about all this force discharge available on the G1 but not on G2. You would have thought G2 would be an upgrade of G1 and would have this feature enabled.

As Spock would say, This would seem Illogical, Captain

John Westwood @ FoxESS upgraded by firmware Wednesday 6th March by return and within 2 hours I was able to see the discharge schedule was available. Waiting now for Octopus energy to push for another Saving Session

Thank you John.

I too now have the schedules available and working, except for “force discharge” which gives a “write error” when selected and attempt to set/save… Now on H1 Gen 2 firmware 1.32 ( 2nd upgrade since install in February)……

Update - my inverter firmware issues detailed above are fixed - unbelievably all it needed was a full shutdown and restart (version number remained unchanged at 1.32 before and after) !!
