Bms Ext Fault

Good evening all

I'm puzzled by a recently occurring fault - now I think this has only started since my HA modbus connection using ethernet. Could this be related?

I'm using the standard HA settings so the quickest polling is 5 seconds (which I don't think it too unreasonable) - is there any way to tell what triggers this? I noticed in the Fox app that the battery goes offline and then a couple of minutes later it seems the inverter resets itself.

The problem is I have a EPS setup on critical circuits and so the inverter resetting switches out the internal relay meaning these circuits lose power for 5-10 seconds.

Has anyone else experienced this?

The firmware versions are
  • Master : 1.48
  • Slave : 1.02
  • Manager : 1.45

I wouldn't poll faster than every 10 seconds if you suspect you're overloading the inverter coms. I know there were some situations during HA testing where it was possible to crash the inverter. Then again Battery offline might mean that the cloud is just offline.

Sorry for the delay in replying I've been laid up in hospital.

I've changed the polling to 15 seconds or longer and still get the occassional errors. Has anyone else heard of this?
