Can Import Limit Dynamically Reduce Battery Charging During Force Charge
Hi everyone,

I have a FoxESS KH10 inverter with a 42 kWh battery. I use Force Charge during a scheduled window to charge my battery from the grid.

The problem is that when large household appliances are running during this window, the total grid import can exceed 12 kW (approximately 50 A), causing my 50 A breaker to trip and cutting power to the house.

I noticed there is an Import Limit setting in the FoxESS app. Would setting this to 12 kW allow the inverter to dynamically reduce battery charging power whenever household loads increase, keeping total grid import below the limit?

Ideally, I want the battery to charge at the maximum possible rate when household consumption is low, then automatically throttle charging when other appliances are running.

Has anyone tested this with a KH10 during Force Charge? Does the Import Limit work this way, or is there another setting that would achieve this?

Thanks!

You could set limits on the inverter screen, or in the App charging. However, this doesn't fix the problem long term, so you perhaps need to read the thread below.

Have a read here, odds are the protection kicks in due to rating of the RCD/RCBO (whatever it is called)
