Hi Will and everyone else on the forum
In the last few days we've just installed 16 ground mounted solar PV with 16KW battery capacity and a 6.5 hybrid inverter.
Its running very happily and we are generating more than our needs at the moment, battery SoC hasn't been below 30%
BUT we do still seem to be taking power from the grid (1 to 2 KWH per day) and not sure why, has anyone come across this before / have any explanation? Its not massive, but I'm hoping its not an indicator of a fault in equipment or set up.
Details of the spikes and different scenarios in grid consumption below (taken from the Fox app)

every so often we get a spike in the power taken from the grid for no apparent reason, different times of day, no longer than 10 minutes each time, different circumstances
day 1 at 10.30am it took 0.82kw - no output power, it used it to charge the battery
day 2 at 16.00 it took 1.54kw - output power also spiked same time at 5.13kw
day 3 no significant peaks in the grid consumption
day 4 at 4.42am it took 5.87KW, and the output power showed a corresponding minus 6.43 KW
at 21.12 it took 6.39KW from the grid and the output power showed minus 6.39
at 21.32 it took 5.99 KW from the grid and the output power showed minus 6.24
day 5 at 4.28am (today) it took 0.94KW from the grid, output power minus 0.04
at 18.43 it took 0.9KW, no peak in output power or anything else

NB we're limiting the inverter at the moment to not feed back into the grid
Any suggested explanations welcome, thank you

Worth checking what the battery SOC was at those times - and what work mode your inverter is using?

Thanks Calum, I'll watch that link. The battery SoC hasn't been below 30% I think since we went on line. The last time the mains consumption spiked, the SOC was at 94%. And we're in self use with PV power mode
It hasn't happened again since last Wed, a week ago - so maybe it was some weird settling in of the installation

As a general thing it's worth checking all your kit has the latest firmware, I'd start by asking your installer to do this.
