my dads had his installation for almost 2 years now, and im convinced the battery has never self used. the whole house is electric so air source heater surely takes alot of power early hours of the morning when i can hear it.
its set to self use, ive tryed mode scheduler and the basic version for years now ive never understood whats going on im a complete novice but i installed a 7.2kw of batteries in my campervan with 5 panels and understand exactly whats happening at any given time and it works fine yet the foxcloud just confuses me, we also had a couple of power outages and the power cut off instead of the battery kicking in
sorry if it seems like a rant when im asking for help, its just my dads struggling to pay the bills and payed alot of money for this and his electricity bill is huge
Here are 3x videos where you can check some settings to see what the battery settings are/grid import and export are set to.

As you are in self-use, then it should be in theory working, it might be the software has crashed and needs power off/on to reset things, but one step at a time.

Unless the system has a seperate Earth bond not wired up to the grid, then for safety it has to shutdown.Yorkshire1 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 12, 2026 12:47 pm We also had a couple of power outages and the power cut off instead of the battery kicking in
Can you please make a picture for the 11th, so that we can see a full day of data?
This one is from your main page dashboard, bottom right This one is under Devices, Battery
As you can see it will show us your battery input/output for the day, along with a SoC (State of Charge) we can view.

On a surface level, it looks like your overnight grid charge from 02:00 to 05:00 didn't do a thing.
When you get solar, your PV generated is just supply a little power that the house is demanding at the time.
When possible, check those 3x videos and see if you can get the information for the Inverter power limits (Import/Export) and same for Battery (Import/Export)

just been and checked for the charge settings it was set to 35amp and discharge was 35amp too, as for import/export, only export was there as an option and it was set to 60000w
So the battery charge menu, it can charge or discharge at 35 Amps, so that seems correct to my knowledge.
There is no apparant import limit for the Inverter showing, makes me wonder if it cannot pull any grid power to charge the battery overnight?

You can also verify the grid CT clamp is on/off here.
Beyond this, you may need to power system fully off, including the batteries.
And then once the Inverter has gone blank, power things back on again, always starting battery first.

It does feel a bit like a system that doesn’t have it’s CT clamp enabled so definitely check this, it would be easier to tell from the graph shown in the Analysis page as that shows Load, Grid, Battery and Solar all together - if you could post that image it would be helpful so we can rule out meter problems.
You can find the CT setting in Settings(0,0,0,0), Feature, Meter/CT, Set, and it should say >CT<, if it says disabled change it to >CT< and press set, the inverter will restart.
Also worth checking that the inverter is actually started, if you press and hold the inverter button 3rd from left (depending on the inverter the symbol is an Enter key or a tick), if after a few seconds it says ‘Start’ then release it and press it again and the inverter will start up, if it says stop exit from there.

It was disabled, I have enabled it and now the battery is actually in use, Thank you all so much, it's been almost two years and last month my dad payed £287 for the electric after just having heart failure and he's been stressing about his bills as he's had to retire so just want you to know for you guys that replied that your time given to a stranger on the Internet has had a big impact, thank you and have a good 2026
The CT clamp has been known to disable itself after firmware updates usually just after installation so that stacks up with what you’ve seen - once it’s been re-enabled it never does it again, so hopefully that’s it now
Thanks, and you’re very welcome, please don’t hesitate if you need any more assistance.

Glad to hear it got sorted, I played whack-a-mole until I struck
Thanks for Dave's extra invaluable input as ever.
Hopefully your dad can stop stressing now that this is working, the bills should drop, and hope his health stays good.

Just an additional thought for you, it might be a good idea to download the FoxCloud 2.0 App on your phone/tablet, login with your current username/password you use on the website. (Been a while, think that is how it still works?)
Then you can check at a glance, the battery charge levels, and how much grid/battery charging has occurred.
