- Fox Ess H3 Smart 15 inverter: ARM Firmware version 1.24

- Fox Ess Battery EQ4800 x 9: Firmware version 2.009
- AC coupled Fronius Symo 8.2-3M Inverter controlling my PV generation
Issue1: Load caculation and display in the Fox Cloud Dashboard"
Since the upgrade to ARM Firmware version 1.24 and Data logger Firmware version 2.08, I noticed that FoxEss cloud version 2 is now showing my Load as a negative value.
I'm not sure this is correct.
In the case of the image above I'm expecting that Load = 9.16 (7.06+2.15-.044)
PS Version 1 of Foxess cloud displays the correct load 9.16
Issue2: Load caculation in the downloadable log file:
When I download the log file for a given day, the following fields are shown in CSV
- Date and Time
- Load (KW): I assume this is calculated by Fox Cloud and I believe is incorrect
- Grid(KW): This field always contains either a zero, or a negative value indicating Export to the grid
- Grid(KW): This field always contains either a zero, or a positive values indicating Import from the grid.
- Battery(KW): This field can contain positive or negative values. Positive for battery charging, negative for battery discharging
- Solar(KW)
- Meter2(KW): This field can be zero or positive value for solar being generated by other PV inverters
- SOC_1(%)
Based on the sample extract attached, I think the LOAD (KW) caculation made by Fox Ess V2 is as follows
LOAD (KW) = Grid_Pos(KW) + Grid_Neg - Battery(KW) + Meter2(KW)
Since Grid_Pos is always positive, and Grid_Neg is always negative, and Battery(KW) can contain negative and positive values, I think the (Load KW) calculation should always add rather than subtract..IE the formula should be
LOAD (KW) = Grid_Pos(KW) + Grid_Neg + Battery(KW) + Meter2(KW)
Is there an explanation for these issues?
