PV during Force Charge and Force Discharge
During force charge, if the Max SoC is reached the PV output reduces to zero until the end of the period.
Similarly, during force discharge, if the forced discharge cutoff SoC is reached, the PV output is zero until the end of the period. In both cases any available PV is not being sent to the house load and/or grid. This is particularly bad during force charge becasue you will start using grid power for your load instead of the PV. Is there anyway to prevent this behaviour?
Also is it possible to set a level during force discharge which will not start unless the SoC is above a certain level. That way I can make sure by limiting the force discharge power that the cutoff SoC is never reached?
Re: PV during Force Charge and Force Discharge
That might be caused by a duff firmware that is causing it to behave this way.

I cannot recall your other threads if you have ever had FW upgrades done, I think you are having trouble I think getting responses from Fox support IIRC.
Re: PV during Force Charge and Force Discharge
I have the latest FW Master(1.58)/Slave(1.02)/Manager(1.58).
Here is the screenshots of the behaviour during Force Charge from Grid.
(1) 11:35AM - At the begining of the force charge period battery Soc is low (49%) and charging from PV(3.15kW)+Grid(7.85kw) at maximumn of 11kW.
(2) 1:29PM - Approaching the battery being fully charged (96%), the charging from PV(3.58kW)+Grid(6.12kW) is slowed slightly to 10.7kW.
(3) 1:52PM - Battery is fully charged (100%), PV(0kW) is stopped and Battery (100%) is stopped. Load(1.8kW) is from the Grid(1.8kW).
(4) 2:12PM - After the force charge period, in the default Self Use mode, PV(3.89kW) is active again and providing the Load(1.73kW), and excess is going back to the Grid(2.17kW).

Obviously there was around 3.5kW of PV during the force charge period when the battery was full (3), but the inverter stopped using it.

Is there any way to use the available PV during a force charge period when the battery is 100%.

Re: PV during Force Charge and Force Discharge
I changed to the basic charging with charge from grid on, and it behaves the way I want.

Why can't the force charging from Mode Sceduler work this way?

I'm actually more interested in force discharge, which is only available in Mode Scheduler, behaving the same way. When it reaches the Forced Discharge Cutoff SoC, it should stop discharging but allow the PV to be used for house load and excess to feed into the Grid.
Re: PV during Force Charge and Force Discharge
Thank you for posting in greater detail, very helpful.

I am on the same FW as yourself, but I have my charge set for cheap overnight rate that ends at 05:30 when there is currently no solar in the UK. So I cannot check the behaviour.

There maybe some bugs in the new FW's that are stopping things, or the FW is behaving as Fox intend it to. I posted here just a few moments ago, basically saying that they might need to use Home Assistant to take over the system logic and control the Inverter using the logic WE set.

I won't repeat the text, but look here please.

Re: PV during Force Charge and Force Discharge
Tried Mode Scheduler with Force Charge again and same result. When battery reaches 100% it cuts the PV power to 0W and uses the grid to power the home load.

Then switched back to basic scheduler and it didn't cut the PV when battery was at 100%. PV was used for the home load and any excess went back into the grid. This is exactly what I want, but I also want to use Force Discharge during other times, which is not available in the basic scheduler.

It seems like during force charge with the mode scheduler, during the entire period the PV can only be used to charge the battery. If during the period it reaches the FC Cutoff SOC, it cuts hte PV to 0W as it cannot charge the battery anymore.

I'm guessing if you had 15kW of PV with the KH10, which has a maximum battery charge power of 10500W, if you were force charging with the mode scheduler in full sunlight, it would cut the PV to 10500W during the period and then 0W when the battery reached the FC Cutoff SOC. I don't understand the logic of this. It should prioritize the PV to the battery rather than only exclusively to the battery.

Is there any documentation which explains in detail each of the modes, for both basic and mode scheduler, in detail so we know when to use which mode to suit our needs?
