Home Assistant modbus connection - source and install pins
Hi following this guide and removed meter/ct/rs 485 connector (16 pins on a kh inverter). Ready to add my two connections from the adapter to pins 3 and 4. Guide says to use red 2 cm connectors left by installer. There aren’t any. Has anyone sourced these say on eBay (link would be great) and how are they fixed to the two wires? Push fit or crimp perhaps. Nearly there once I can get these added.

Many thanks

After more searching found that they are red bootlace crimp. Various sources including eBay. Also see that a crimp tool is required or can be done using pliers carefully
Re: Home Assistant modbus connection - source and install pins
Did you managed to source the correct bootlace crimp and crimp too, and did a successful connection? I am trying to do the same but am unsure what is the exact size of the bootlace crimp (diameter and length). Could you share the link to where you bought the crimp and crimp tool. Thank you in advance.
Re: Home Assistant modbus connection - source and install pins
I didn't source any bootlace ferrules but successfully used this method.

Measure the pin length
Remove plastic sheeving to the same length
To insert - rest connector block against firm surface
Use small screwdriver to push small square block that opens "gate" to that pin
Hold open and insert trimmed cable to correct pin (double and double check as you are looking at the diagram showing the front but inserting from the back) continue until conductor disapears into slot and up to the plastic sheeve
Release screwdriver and give wire a gentle pull - enough to confirm that wire is correctly inserted and held
Repeat for second cable

There is a test program Modpoll that confirms RS485 is operating but I got errors 2 times and 3rd time it wasn't successful but came back with different error

I had to do this a number of times (keep calm and double check everything) and then Home Assistant and Fox Modbus integration comes up with live values

You can then start your journey of controlling/monitoring your invertery, battery and generation and consumption.

Good luck
