I've just had a system installed and I've got a bit confused about how the various charge and work mode settings interact - can anyone explain if/where I'm going wrong?
What I'm after is:
- supply the house from PV first, falling back to grid when PV doesn't cover the house demand
- charge the battery when the PV supply is greater than the house demand
- maintain the battery at a minimum 10% charge, charging from the grid if necessary
At the moment I'm not concerned about export because a) I'm still waiting for my meter to be upgraded to bi-directional and b) it's winter in northern Germany and it'll be grey and dark for the next 3 months at least...
I've got these settings currently:
- work mode: self-use
- battery reserve capacity: 10%
- system minimum SOC: 10%
- both grid charging time slots are off
This seemed to be working, but then I noticed that the battery capacity had fallen to 5% overnight.
I figured this must have been because the grid charging time was turned off, so I updated it to 00:00->23:59 and turned it on. What I expected to happen was for the battery to charge from the grid until 10% and then stop, but what actually happened was that it was charging to more than 50%
Was this just a glitch, or have I got the settings wrong somewhere?
