KH9.9 + EQ4800 fresh install. Battery stays idle
KH9.9
Master 1.50
Slave 1.02

EQ4800
BMS 2.007

No error or faults.
AC coupled, using CT to show gen load and grid load
Both loads seem to be correct from the App

Self use mode selected
Force charge tried on schedule for 2nd day now, no luck
Battery stays idle. No charge or discharge

Battery leds master is green solid
Slave flashes green every second

Inverter display says waiting ...

Datalogger red slow flash with a couple green after 5 or so red

While I wait for the installer to get back to me on Monday
Wanted to see if the brains trust here, has seen this before?

Firmware upgrade requested from fox ess support on Friday
Thanks
Re: KH9.9 + EQ4800 fresh install. Battery stays idle
It would be helpful if you could post a couple of graphs to see if the inverter is reporting loads, gen etc.. correctly

If the Force Charge is not working, what were your settings - the latest firmware requires FDPwr to be set to the charge power so if you’re following older posts setting it to 0 won’t work, also FDSoC should be set the same as MaxSoC.

I.e. Force Charge (whatever period), MinSoc 10%, MaxSoC 100%, FDSoC 100%, FDPwr (say 4000 watts).

The other thing to check if that does not work is your import grid limits have not been set correctly, you can only access them from the inverter panel (unless you have agent access) so go into Settings, On-Grid, Export Control and the settings to look at are ImportLimitPwr (should be set to at least 9900), ImportLimitCur should be set to 100A.
Re: KH9.9 + EQ4800 fresh install. Battery stays idle
Thanks Dave

Have set Import current and power, they were set. But not as per what you provided

Note as I don't have PV Connected to Fox ess. Does that mean self use is not going to discharge battery if grid use is higher ?
I do wonder if a PV setting is conflicting

Here's a screenshot at 10:17 am
Which shows that the schedule has not worked
For forced charge

Re: KH9.9 + EQ4800 fresh install. Battery stays idle
Can you post the graph at the bottom of the page when you swipe left on the home app page, it’s difficult to tell which way the power flows are going with the home page and it would be good to see if the battery is ever doing anything.

If you are just trying to charge the battery with excess solar you don’t need to force charge at all, just set Self Use and any spare should be used to charge the batteries.. but that battery seems stuck in idle ?.
Re: KH9.9 + EQ4800 fresh install. Battery stays idle
An update, as the issue is still not resolved
Inverter shows "checking 0s" and battery doesn't charge or discharge
In case someone has any other ideas

Installer came back last week. Did some troubleshooting as per Fox support . Disconnected and reconnected all cables. Had to leave as he had spent an hour already!

Firmware updates done on both inverter and battery

I was on call myself with Fox Engineer on Friday, did the restarts and reset as they instructed me to

They haven't confirmed if the inverter is faulty. And they will try to send someone on site ( no idea when )

Both CT are being read by the inverter properly
Gen load being my AC coupled solar
No solar connected to Fox kh9.9

Re: KH9.9 + EQ4800 fresh install. Battery stays idle
Has anyone tried power cycling the inverter, i.e. full shutdown, then restart.?

Checking status is usually seen at startup when there is no grid available, or the parameters voltage/frequency are out of bounds - but you’d expect to see an error reported in the logs that confirms that and you inverter appears to be running without error ?…
Re: KH9.9 + EQ4800 fresh install. Battery stays idle
Hi Dave

Yes multiple restarts done already
As per Fox support steps , turning off main switch etc

It's like inverter is stuck ..
Yet no errors
Faults .. there are some random faults yes .. twice a day
Code 45
Isolation resistance of Pv plant is abnormal

But there is no PV connected to fox inverter

I'll raise it with Fox support tomorrow
