Fox AC1 Inverter 2nd CT connection
Hi,

My setup is as follows:

Fox ESS AC1 Inverter with 2x EP11 batteries
SolarEdge inverter with 12x 440w PV panels

Currently my Fox Dashboard looks like this:
FoxESS Overview.png
My installer has offered to come out next week and run a second CT clamp up to the output from the SolarEdge inverter, in my loft, so that the PV side of my dashboard will accurately report what my PV is doing. Currently, as you see, if PV is greater than house load, then my house load reports as a negative value in the app, or on the web page, the stream of green arrows flows away from the Load.

The couple of questions I have (not that I distrust my installer - they are just new to me as the original installer went out of business :? ):

1. Where, physically, does the CT2 clamp connect to on the bottom of my AC1
2. Is there any configuration I need to be aware of, either in the Fox Cloud app, or on the inverter panel, to enable it
3. Will my dashboard automatically correctly show house load, rather than (house load - PV production)

This is a lot of info, and a lot of asks, all in one go, so I do apologise in advance! Please let me know if there is anything that I've missed!

Regards,
David.

Hi, i’ll do my best to answer

1. The CT2 clamp is wired into the Meter/CT/RS485 connector (pins 5 & 6) on the bottom of the inverter(just to the right of the battery connectors).
2. The only configuration is to enable it in Settings, Feature, Meter2/CT2, set to >CT< (it will be disabled at the moment). When I say the only configuration, the CT clamp is directional and so must be wired/placed correctly for the power from your other inverter to be correctly displayed (FYI It’s easy enough to flip it round if it’s wrong).
3. Once the inverter can see the scale of power arriving on CT2 it should then be able to calculate the load correctly and your statistics should start to make more sense. Anything arriving via your other inverter will be shown as ‘Gen’

Dave,

Once again you come to the rescue! Thanks so much, I'll pass this on to my installer if he starts scratching his head!!

Cheers,
David
