H1 not broadcasting WiFi
Probably because we changed the house wifi system our H1 inverter isn't showing up on the FoxESS website or the (marvellous) Energy Stats app.

All the advice I can find starts with "Connect to the inverter's wifi", but it's not broadcasting an address to connect to.

The system is (generally) working, and I can still control it through the ModBus HA extension and the RS485 to wifi dongle I added, but how do I get its main wifi connection back running?

I couldn't see anything obvious on its front panel menu either.
Re: H1 not broadcasting WiFi
You need to be closer to it to see the broadcast and it is normally an SSID that looks like W-xxxxxx

If you cannot see it, probably best to remove the datalogger (at the bottom middle of the inverter with a red flashing light) and then plug it back in again which will restart it and hopefully should see the ssid being broadcast.

The datalogger is 2.4Ghz only band and that can confuse things with modern dual band 2.4/5GHz routers.
Re: H1 not broadcasting WiFi
Thanks for that Dave,

Yes, even though normally it broadcasts enough to be seen in the house I went up into the loft and sat right next to it, still no W-<anything> showing up.

The red flashy thing was being red and flashing so I'll un- and re-plug.

Thanks again.
Re: H1 not broadcasting WiFi
Ok, tried that twice now and it still doesn't show up when it's plugged in and tightened up again. The red light is flashing so it's at least getting power.

Is it likely to be a faulty data logger, or is there something else to try?

Any idea what ip address it tries to assign itself? Could the house wifi be interfering with that? :(
Re: H1 not broadcasting WiFi
If it’s the older datalogger you should just see it broadcast and that shouldn’t be interrupted by what your router is broadcasting - that said try changing the device you are using as there have been a number of issues reported over the years with ios/android settings that stop it scanning the wifi ssid correctly.

On the latest dataloggers you follow a different path in the app to connect https://youtu.be/MeZLXu64HVM?si=aUTLH5wyJx5idZiC
Re: H1 not broadcasting WiFi
The system was installed September 2023, does that qualify as "older"?

I just used an iPhone instead of my Android, still nothing.

I tried manually entering the SSID (I still have it recorded in my list of "Other networks"). Similarly nothing :(

<A few minutes later> Nope, I guess it is "older". I tried the "Local Setting" options on the app. Scanned the QR code on the data logger and still got "Protocol not recognised" (or similar). :( :(
