Re: Getting to Grips with New System
As Dave mentions above, the capacity will reduce as the batteries get colder. I have 6 HV25 batteries at 92% SOH, so about 13.2kWh usable, however at this time of year it's more like 11kWh when they are cold. Here's a trace showing how the BMS has to re-adjust the expected remaining capacity as the ...

Re: Inverters and PV info
I have essentially the same setup, a H1-5.0-E (Gen 1) and F3600 with another array attached. To see the figures for the F3000 you need a second CT clamp from the H1 to the feed from the F3000. The generation from the F3000 would then show as "Meter2power". The figure will be negative however as it ...

Re: Grid Pressure/Push back Setting added to the K and H1-gen2
Is there any chance this will be made possible on the H1 gen 1 in the future? It always uses about 0.3kWh per day at the peak rate so it would save about £30 per year alone.

Re: Charging/ Grid not following settings
As mentioned above, I would be looking at the battery temperature. Unusual charging from the grid, the battery suddenly not being used etc all sound like it's too cold. What temperature is it showing in the v2.0 app?
These issues nearly always pop up for people during very cold spells.

The battery brackets hold them securely upright and spread the weight over each battery. They're all attached to each other by the brackets so they can't move or fall over.

I've had 5 (and 6 since August, so 164kg!) HV25s up there for 2 years now.
Mine were installed front side up by the installer, so that they span more joists. I haven't encountered any issues but its always been at the back of my mind I must admit.

Re: Temperature reducing battery charging
Yes, my HV25s reduce to around 0.55kW charge rate per battery below 10C min cell temp (about 10A). With 6 batteries I get about 3.3kW charge rate. For you, with four, I'd expect about 2.0-2.2kW below 10C (as your trace shows). This will drop further if below 5C until no charging occurs at 0C.

It's a very good quote if thats including the install. Under £12k for 16 panels, 10kW inverter and 20kWh of batteries is excellent.

Re: Help with planning on upgrade
A single KH10 or 10.5 would serve you fine depending on how large your proposed new array is. Your existing 15x 400w panels on one roof could be split between two MPPTs, leaving another two MPPTs for your new array. There would not be an issue with your house fuse as that would only be 45A ...

Re: Help with planning on upgrade
Do you already have EQ4800s (x4)? If so, you could just get more slaves and run the new SW array on a simple F Series inverter. As long as they are connected by a CT clamp, the H1 will see the generation of the new array and charge the batteries from it. Its the most cost-effective option. The other ...

Re: Battery charging from grid
Welcome to the forum,
The maximum charge rate is 3.68kW (Kilowatts) as shown in your image. The capacity of the batteries is 9.6kWh (Kilowatts per hour), meaning at a charge rate of 3.68kW it will take about 2½ hours to charge the battery from empty.

Re: G8 or KH8 inverter for solar only system? and what size for 16 panels?
thanks,
ok, so lets say I buy 1kw for 7p and export for 15p
so that is 8p profit per kw
if my battery is 10kw, I leave 1 kw in reserve
I sell export 9kw in the morning=9x8=£0.72
times 365=£262.8 per year
battery cost £3000/262.8=11.4 year for the battery to pay off
and that is you do this every ...

Thank you so much for the quick response.
I have ordered the boards and should arrive by Monday. I assume all 5 sides are covered. Did you keep 30cm gap between the batteries and the insulation please?
Thank you so much once again.

Hi Martyn, mine done exactly the same last evening. Stopped charging around 1130pm. Looking at the graphs, it didn’t look like an occasional low power charge due to temperature but I may be wrong. If it was this then not sure why it would have suddenly stopped?
Here is the charging graph….

Re: Cold nights?
I have an insulating fire blanket over the cables just for a piece of mind. However in normal running they shouldn't ever get hot.
I've had this insulation on for over a year and didn't actually need to remove it over the summer as it seems the biggest challenge has been keeping the batteries warm ...

I had this last night. It was definitely a cloud issue but despite this I was able to access and change mode scheduler to force discharge as normal in the evening.

Further to what Dave mentions above, definitely get the larger inverter and as many panels as possible on both of the east and west roofs. If you get the larger inverter then all of your wiring installed will be uprated for this too.

Re: HV2600 BMS capacity gone haywire since firmware update
The update to Manager 1.74 and Master 1.65 caused all sorts of issues for me. Initially after the update, it said I generated 131kWh of solar that day and had a yield of 0.0kWh, the next two days it then did not count up at all from zero. Fortunately this seems to have now solved itself.

Yes, the v2.0 app and home assistant after a restart both show v1.63 still. I've sent them an email asking for the update to v1.65. I'm not sure why they only updated the one.

Re: PV output clipping during strategy set forced charge
Sorry to bump an old thread, but I've requested a firmware update on my H1 to solve this PV clipping issue and they have updated the Manager to 1.74 but left the Master 1.63 for some reason? Is the fix in the manager version or are both required to be updated?

Re: What should the PV produce on a cloudy day?
We did 7.6kWh today with 9.42kW of panels.
Trust me it gets worse. We did 0.08kW on 2nd January this year (admittedly with only 4.8kW of panels back then, but still!). We had a peak of about 50 watts that day!
I've managed 55.2kWh on a good day in May but only 88kWh all month last December.

This can be done using the standard charge periods on the app.
Set the times on Charge period 1 to 00:00 and 06:59 (this is actually 00:00:59 and 06:59:59 in reality). As you've discovered, you need both min SOC and min SOC (on grid) to 12%. Min SOC (on grid) is for when you want to keep a reserve ...
