Duplicate Site
I've just added a dongle to my second inverter (a F3600 to go with an existing H1-5.0-E) and I've got an issue where I've added the dongle S/N to the Fox cloud and instead of adding it (and the inverter) to the existing site, it has created a duplicate identically named site so although everything r...

Re: Definition of terms
If you go into the Data Report section of the v2.0 app and then the "Custom" tab in the Reporting Method, you can select which parameters are downloaded. In there you will find things that aren't present in "Standard way". You can get PVPower (total PV Generation) and PV1 Power a...

Re: Battery/ambient temp readings
Its worth noting, in the Fox v2 app you can download the entire data from the inverter for select date/times and you can see the maximum and minimum battery cell temperatures.
It also shows number of battery cycles, which is quite useful!

Re: Unusual 1kwph spikes as State of Charge (SoC) gets low
This is almost certainly related to a battery temperature that is too low. The BMS will be drawing from the grid to keep the cells warm at the low SOC.
On your bottom graph select the battery temp tab and it'll give you a trend so you can see what it is.

Re: Import readings
I think this is simply due to the 5 minute time interval between snapshots so often the inverter misses things. If you happened to boil a kettle and it falls in the 5 minutes between snapshots then the inverter data wouldn't show any grid used in that time but the meter would. Similar happens on exp...

Re: Teething troubles? - exporting not storing
One thing I've recently discovered after using the v2.0 app to download the inverter data is that the batteries can be a lot colder than you think and a lot lower than the "battery temp" value shown in the cloud. I was getting reduced charge rates from the grid overnight and couldn't under...

Re: Dual Inverters
Yes, there's a CT clamp from the F3600 to the H1-5.0-E so I can see the power it is sending over but that's all. Energy Stats and the Fox app show this also, but report it as a third-party inverter due to the lack of Wifi on the F series. Also worth noting the new 'PV yield' on energy stats does not...

Re: Dual Inverters
Thanks for the reply. How will it work as it stands? Will I see anything on my H1-5.0 on the cloud that will indicate its all working as it should? It looks like I'll have to get the dongle as I like to see what's going on. I'm a bit annoyed my installer didn't do this as I was under the impression ...

Re: Dual Inverters
Just bumping this as I have had the F3600 installed alongside my H1-5.0-E and I have a question. I notice on the F3600 there is no wifi dongle. Is this not required when two inverters are used? I was under the impression both would have one and that way I could see both in the cloud. They are connec...

Re: Battery charge setting access
I think the issue is this has been going on for quite a while and its at the worst time of the year as now is the time when people are most reliant on force charging. I've no doubt they'll fix it, but its costing those who can't force charge in the cheap window of their tariffs a lot of money. As fo...

Re: Battery charge setting access
This only-via-the-cloud control philosophy needs to die a flaming death. This, 100%. There should be an option to run locally rather than use the cloud. Its always in the back of my mind that you generally buy an inverter / batteries with the idea of them lasting 10+ years. Will these companies sti...

Re: Battery charge setting access
As mentioned above, it seems the only way to get this working now is using schedules/strategies if you have the newest firmware. I have mine set to charge 0200-0500 from the grid but don't dare change in case it doesn't work again. The reason I'm wary is I'm getting battery error messages in the app...

Re: FoxCloud2.0 Data
Yes this appears to be accurate. The figure is for the PV generation for that 5 minute snapshot. Say it says pv1 power is 1kw and pv2 power is 2kw, the following formula will give you the kWh generated in that 5 minute interval: (PV1 Power + PV2 Power)/60 = 0.05kWh 0.05kWh x 5 = 0.25kWh generated in...

It can be read from the front panel of the inverter, though as you can imagine this isn't ideal so I only do it at the end of the month or days when I go up in the loft!

Re: Definition of terms
The calculation doesn't and hasn't ever worked for me. Today we generated 1.2kWh but the calculation gives -0.1kwh. It's due to losses inevitably being taken into account. This occurs when you force charge or discharge - basically any time you have a DC-AC or AC-DC conversion happening. It was so ba...

Re: Energy Stats App by Al Priest
This is very disappointing. The best thing about the Energy stats app was it was simple. The data was all there with a few clicks. I've installed the Fox v2 app and it's still overly complicated requiring so many clicks to get the information you need on different pages. And AGAIN it doesn't show da...

Yes, I have the same issue. Battery just shows 0%.
Everything local is working fine as the Energy stats app is still showing everything other than the battery.

Re: Size of battery
Is this 4x HV25s you have? That would be 9.8kWh. You can check the voltage of the battery if you click the eye on the top-right of the real-time data tab. From there you can tell if all of your batteries are working by the voltage. 4x HV25s would be around 205v or thereabouts. You could also be gett...

Re: Dual Inverters
Thanks that's really helpful. We are indeed resubmitting the G99 as we'll need more than the current 5kW export regardless. At present we can discharge from the batteries at up to 5kW with the H1-5.0-E. I was originally drawn to a larger inverter in the first place as we have an 8kW electric shower ...

I'm currently running a 4.8kW SE facing array on a H1 5.0-E and am getting a second 4.6kW array installed on the opposite NW roof. Re: Expected PV power in winter sun?
It sounds to me like you have the panels in two strings of four. As mentioned above this wont work too well. I have five on one string and 7 on another and the 5 string does not perform proportionally as well at this time of the year as the 7 string so I would suggest that is probably the lowest you...

Re: Battery on force charge limit 1.44kw
What temperature is the battery? Generally charge rate only drops like this if the batteries are getting too cold. They only have to drop below about 17C for the charge rate to drop to 2.5kW and again further when it gets a little colder than that.

Inaccurate Solar reporting when charging from grid
Is there a better way to calculate solar output on a day? At present I'm using the following: Solar generated = (battery charge - battery discharge - consumption yield + Load yield + Feed in yield) Previously this gave a figure approximately 5% out from the generation meter: close enough to be usefu...
