Re: Cold nights?

I have an insulating fire blanket over the cables just for a piece of mind. However in normal running they shouldn't ever get hot.

I've had this insulation on for over a year and didn't actually need to remove it over the summer as it seems the biggest challenge has been keeping the batteries warm ...

Re: Battery Offline - Still working but won't take charge / mode scheduler instructions

I had this last night. It was definitely a cloud issue but despite this I was able to access and change mode scheduler to force discharge as normal in the evening.

Re: Inverter Sizing

Further to what Dave mentions above, definitely get the larger inverter and as many panels as possible on both of the east and west roofs. If you get the larger inverter then all of your wiring installed will be uprated for this too.

I made the mistake of getting only one roof done initially ...

Re: HV2600 BMS capacity gone haywire since firmware update

The update to Manager 1.74 and Master 1.65 caused all sorts of issues for me. Initially after the update, it said I generated 131kWh of solar that day and had a yield of 0.0kWh, the next two days it then did not count up at all from zero. Fortunately this seems to have now solved itself.

I updated ...

Re: PV output clipping during strategy set forced charge

I can confirm that the fix does not work without the update of the master version. Hopefully they reply to my email!

Re: PV output clipping during strategy set forced charge

Yes, the v2.0 app and home assistant after a restart both show v1.63 still. I've sent them an email asking for the update to v1.65. I'm not sure why they only updated the one.

Re: PV output clipping during strategy set forced charge

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I've requested a firmware update on my H1 to solve this PV clipping issue and they have updated the Manager to 1.74 but left the Master 1.63 for some reason? Is the fix in the manager version or are both required to be updated?

What's the latest Master version. Is ...

Re: What should the PV produce on a cloudy day?

We did 7.6kWh today with 9.42kW of panels.

Trust me it gets worse. We did 0.08kW on 2nd January this year (admittedly with only 4.8kW of panels back then, but still!). We had a peak of about 50 watts that day!

I've managed 55.2kWh on a good day in May but only 88kWh all month last December.

The ...

Re: How to set up Forced Charging at night and selfuse during the day

This can be done using the standard charge periods on the app.

Set the times on Charge period 1 to 00:00 and 06:59 (this is actually 00:00:59 and 06:59:59 in reality). As you've discovered, you need both min SOC and min SOC (on grid) to 12%. Min SOC (on grid) is for when you want to keep a reserve ...

Re: Overnight battery charging

You need to set the Min SOC (on grid) to 10% aswell.

Min SOC is the lowest it will take the battery to, Min SOC (on grid) is for when you have EPS backup and want to leave a certain amount of charge in reserve in the case of power cuts.

Re: Inverter does not recognize right PV-values on sunny days

It looks like your installer has put all of your panels on one MPPT (approx. 33v x 13 panels = ~425v), which is strange in such a setup. It would probably have been a better idea to have each side of the dormer on their own MPPT as it could be the shading or over-panelling causing this. The other ...

Re: Load Power

Managed to get uploading to PVoutput working too. I'll post what I used in here as I couldn't find how to do it anywhere after extensive searching! A bit different on mine being a dual inverter system, but this should work for anyone:

In configuration.yaml:

## Solar Output to PV Output

Re: Load Power

Thanks Dave, that all worked perfectly!

I now have a combined PV value from both inverters, daily count and monthly count and the load reports correctly and counts up daily as it should.

Weirdly the sensor "sensor.pv_power_h1_5_0_e" is correct, though I've no idea why it is reversed!

Absolute ...

Re: FoxCloud 2.0 Update

For information, the latest update released today (v2.1.22) completely breaks the CT2 generation again. It has also messed up the daily figures compared to it's own graphs and that of the v1 app and energy stats (e.g it's saying my grid use today is 9.0kWh, compared to 9.7kWh on the other apps and ...

Re: solar system package help

A KH7 inverter would be perfect for this. It has three MPPTs so you could have the 7 east facing panels on one string and spilt the 11 west facing panels to 5 and 6 on their own strings. No issue with clipping then.

Rather than two EP5s I would look at one EP11 instead as it has a higher charge ...

Re: HV25 State of Health (SOH)

Thought it might be worth an update as at the ripe old age of 18 months since installation and only 390 cycles, it has just dropped to 94% SOH yesterday.

I'm starting to get a bit worried now. If the drop continues in a linear fashion Ill be at 80% SOH in 1300 cycles and under 5 years. I'm also ...

Re: Does a battery/inverter shed require air conditioning?

I've actually found keeping the batteries warm enough is the hardest thing here in the UK. This is especially the case now I have both sides of the roof covered with solar panels. I've found even in July and August, the minimum cell temperature is dropping below 20C (sometimes well below) and they ...

Re: Storage battery sizing...

We use about 11kWh per day on average, so I went for 5 HV25s (12.28kWh). I would have liked 6 but was worried about too much weight in the loft.

I've found by putting things like the dishwasher on timer so it coincides with the cheap period, I'm easily covered in winter.

I'm looking at getting an ...
