Thank you all for the pointer to SolCast , once set up with location, number of panels angle and directions it seems very accurate, time will of course tell!
I've gone for a simple solution with an automation running before midnight using
entity_id: sensor.solcast_pv_forecast_forecast_tomorrow ...

Re: Change the Work Mode based on battery SoC
Hi Andy,
Not saying this is more correct, but I have something similar working during summer when I set mode to Force Discharge at peak rate. It's also making use of a input_number.target_soc_force_export created as Settings > Device & Services > Helper tab, which allows playing with the value from ...

thanks Dave,
The polling every 5 minutes against a condition works a treat, great idea! I don't think the trigger was firing at all on the state...

I'm trying to trigger on SoC level, help needed
I'm hoping someone can help, I thought this would work after testing in the templates page but hasn't triggered.
Background for goal:
I've had automations setting the work mode based on the tariffs, so at the start of the peak rate I switch to Feed-In Priority, at the end of peak I switch back to ...

I see, that relates to the "pin contact" too, I have the plastic plugs. Thanks

BMS/Inverter battery cable connection parts
Hi,
Can someone point me to where to find parts for these connections, I've just bought longer 10 AWG cables to move batteries a bit further away from the inverter, I already have the spare plugs, it's just the metal inserts I need to crimp, do I just need a standard part with the correct diameter ...

Re: Hello from South London
Thanks for the heads up on the inverter rating against charging/discharging the battery, I had it in my head that was the power rating for the PV, but now I've moved the batteries back with the H1-5.0 I see the benefit of handling surges such as kettles etc over the H1-3.7 👍

Re: Hello from South London
Thank you for the explanation. You are absolutely right, when I see generation increase from the workshop the house load goes down, and can even become negative..
One thing I didn't mention, the batteries are still in the loft connected to the H3.7, I was was going to leave them there unless there ...

Re: Hello from South London
Hi Dave,
does that mean each is powering its own consumer unit so effectively one is in series with the other?
Don't think so. The Workshop (with "big inverter") -> feeds into a consumer unit in the workshop. The supply to/from that consumer unit goes into a 40A MCB breaker on the house consumer ...

Hello from South London
Our system has been evolving over the last few years
2018 - 8x 300W Jenkos
2021 - 2x HV2600 v1 batteries and the H1-5.0-E Inverter (6kW) was swapped in
Then last year, after coming across this forum, started thinking about the possibilities of increasing capacity. Bought 2x HV2600 v2 batteries ...

Setting Max SoC at different levels during the day to get the best from Octopus Flux tariff
Hi,
This is my first automation after finally setting up my HA (on old laptop using docker ) and the Modbus integration (using a 304 ), so I'm sure it can be improved on and very welcome to hear your comments!

Re: BMS V2 with mixed v1/v2 batteries - Solution to persistent BMS alarms.
I'd like to add another successful (and very grateful!) +1 to modifying the supplied RS485 cable solution!
I'd installed the BMS V2 with 2x new V2 batteries in front of the 2x Version C I had previously.
For 3 nights I saw forced charging working fine with no errors, then errors started before the ...
