Re: HA Database corrupting on almost daily basis

There's a new experimental option for foxess_modbus under "CONFIGURE" to round and filter sensors slightly, which should help a lot with database size issues.

yeah saw that one and installed it already.
I've also ...

Re: HA Database corrupting on almost daily basis

it's outgrown the RPi platform in my opinion.

Why exactly?
And what do you propose as an alternative then?

At the moment HA runs as a docker container on a rpi4 8GB with an 128GB Samsung 850 Pro. (Ubuntu 20.04 LTS)
I'm now on the look for something else as I want to run HAOS so i can make use ...

Re: FoxESS mobile App - data not updating / Inverter offline

Can someone tell me how to get a firmware upgrade. I have been on the app store but there is nothing there. (I have an android phone)

TIA

You would generally start with your installer, who should have "agent" access that would allow them to perform these upgrades remotely.
Failing that you ...

it should be the 2nd option

Code: Select all

# FoxEss Inverter Cloud API
sensor:
  - platform: foxess
    username: your_username
    password: your_password
    deviceID: your_device_id
But you need to watch the indentation!

Re: App problems

guess you'll have to wait, I'm afraid

Setting up a local system which can record and control the inverter over modbus is the only solution.
I'm using Home-Assistant with 2 specific FoxESS integrations: foxess_modbus and foxess_em

all the best

yeah you didn't hear the best yet:
I never asked my local installer to update the firmware, I asked FoxESS via their support portal.
The local guys are so busy I thought I could better go directly to FoxESS. Another lesson learned.

And to finish the story.
The system has been ...

Tell that to FoxESS Support, I mentioned this 8h ago in the ticket. No response whatsoever.
We're running on grid for more than 24h and it was such a sunny day :|

I just don't get why we don't have access to the firmware files.

Apparently something went wrong while updating the Master (there ...

Got the same error since yesterday at 16:08 (only noticed it around 18:00)
And this morning I saw the Master went from 1.44 to 1.54, guess something went wrong with the remote update :?

So I contacted the installer and they said they need to send someone over to fix this :o

Hello David and Alan,
Anyway, I ordered the recommended RS485 to TCP converter from Waveshare.
Then we'll see. Dave, maybe I need your help with the configuration then!?

I'm not not DavešŸ¤, but it's rather well explained here: https://github.com/nathanmarlor/foxess_modbus/wiki/Waveshare-RS485-to ...

Re: How to automate best via HomeAssistant

Something odd I noticed: since hooking up the RS485 there were no mysterious disconnections on my LAN-port anymore.
The HA-FoxESS-Modbus integration is running rather stable at the moment since April 5th, but the foxess-modbus integration looks more promising when it comes to managing the PV-system

I get no connection to my H3-5.0-E with battery ECS2900.
When I look in the menue "Ueber/About" the IP-address is show as 000.000.000.000. The MAC address I found.
In the menue "Einstellungen/Settings" -> "Ethernet" there is only "->DHCP". (no "IP" or "Subnet mask").

Does someone knows why ...

Took me about 10 minutes to open the connector. The advice to use 2 flat screwdrivers was handy, but in the end I used an iFixit tool.
So the Waveshare RS485 to PoE ETH (B) has been installed next to the CT Meter in the fuse box. Unfortunately I could not recuperate the unused wires from the CT ...

How to automate best via HomeAssistant

Hi, new PV user here :)

Got a couple of questions now the system is running for a week.

For now my H1 is still on a rather old firmware version, which seems to have some issues with manipulating the Time Periods via FoxEss Cloud, but the LAN port still works
