Re: Octopus Agile Work Model
So a bit of a late joiner to this thread, but I am also trying to get the Octopus Agile work model running.
I can see it in the cloud via a web browser, and I can select the different modes and tell it I want to (for instance) buy power at the 4 lowest cost Agile periods.
However - it doesn't ...

Re: Expected PV power in winter sun?
Definitely sounds fishy to me. Even in the middle of winter, my 6.24 kWp array with 5 kWp Inverter produced about 350 kWh over January (11 kWh per day)
Is that yield, or solar generation, as I wouldn't have thought that we would have had enough sunlight for that amount of solar generation, in ...

I have an iBoost system and it works very well, but always consider the overall cost of your energy and the way that you use it. My iBoost system is currently switched off, but it has paid for itself already in the first year by using over 1650KW of solar energy that would otherwise have gone to the ...

Re: Octopus Flux & Inverter Work Mode
Good morning,
For what it is worth, I do not set any charge or discharge parameters for this time of year. I run entirely on battery and solar and as my batteries are now fully charged (08:40), there will never be any need to charge during the day either. The only thing I need to be careful of, is ...

Update:
The inverter seems to have lost its IP address again. I don't know why, but I'll check tomorrow.
For now though, Home Assistant isn't really working out.

Re: Solar Reporting

Re: Battery Charging issue after adding 2 additional batteries
You will need to have a V2 BMS installed. Speak to your installer, but there was a cut-off for this being a free replacement to a cost to the customer. This is because V1 batteries are going to be produced again and will be available this year. The system will then need a firmware update to allow ...

The Chromebox is running HA OS on its own, so I'm guessing I need to reconnect to the router.Dave Foster wrote: Sat Jan 14, 2023 8:14 pm I’m not that familiar with the Chromebox host but unless it can act as a DHCP server, the inverter would need to be connected via an intermediary such as a router that can issue IP address leases.

Re: H1-5 Entity is Currently Unavailable
If it showed all 0’s, it’s lost the IP address not sure why it does that but possibly the DHCP lease expired, or it resets if it loses the physical connection - I get the feeling this isn’t the best implementation which might explain why they’ve removed it but no answer so far as to why.
You’ll ...

Re: H1-5 Entity is Currently Unavailable
Probably worth checking the IP address on your inverter is what you think it is (and what you have in your HA config), if the router is set to DHCP and the IP address wasn't set as static the lease could have expired and the inverter has got a new IP address.
You can see the IP address the ...

Re: confirmation about battery charging
Solar energy use controlled by your system will be prioritised.
Most likely it will be house loads, battery and then grid, in that order.
The house house will take what it needs and the rest will go to charge the batteries, so unless the house is drawing no load at all, the battery charging power ...

I haven't delved too deep into this, as I bought an iBoost, but there are DIY PWM projects available, which might be worth investigation, in addition, I've noticed another company "Solic" making a cheaper diverter, at a current price of around £225 (I'm not affiliated) this would give you a ROI in ...

I will post a pic when I get the opportunity, but my EPS has been wired to avoid the RCD tripping that occurs.
I have a feeling that I used an MCB instead of an RCD for the PV system.
There are articles on this very topic on the web, as it is a known phenomena.

On the Fox website, there are various downloads relating to the hardware options. You should be able to find what you need there.

Try changing it on the web app, saving, logging out and then back in again, to check that the settings have been saved.
