Re: Octopus Agile Work Model

So a bit of a late joiner to this thread, but I am also trying to get the Octopus Agile work model running.

I can see it in the cloud via a web browser, and I can select the different modes and tell it I want to (for instance) buy power at the 4 lowest cost Agile periods.

However - it doesn't ...

To save the details entered, after clicking 'test', one then needs to click 'edit' to save the details and then the inverter will display your tariff via the web app. It would be nice to show an overlay with different tariffs, but that doesn't appear to be the case, as I can ...

Re: Expected PV power in winter sun?

Definitely sounds fishy to me. Even in the middle of winter, my 6.24 kWp array with 5 kWp Inverter produced about 350 kWh over January (11 kWh per day)

Is that yield, or solar generation, as I wouldn't have thought that we would have had enough sunlight for that amount of solar generation, in ...

Re: Immersion heater controller

I have an iBoost system and it works very well, but always consider the overall cost of your energy and the way that you use it. My iBoost system is currently switched off, but it has paid for itself already in the first year by using over 1650KW of solar energy that would otherwise have gone to the ...

Re: Octopus Flux & Inverter Work Mode

Good morning,

For what it is worth, I do not set any charge or discharge parameters for this time of year. I run entirely on battery and solar and as my batteries are now fully charged (08:40), there will never be any need to charge during the day either. The only thing I need to be careful of, is ...

Update:

The inverter seems to have lost its IP address again. I don't know why, but I'll check tomorrow.

For now though, Home Assistant isn't really working out.

Re: Battery Charging issue after adding 2 additional batteries

You will need to have a V2 BMS installed. Speak to your installer, but there was a cut-off for this being a free replacement to a cost to the customer. This is because V1 batteries are going to be produced again and will be available this year. The system will then need a firmware update to allow ...

Re: Solar Reporting

If you are using the Fox App you can work out the solar generated from the 'Monthly Yield' statistics pages, the formula is -

Solar generated = (battery charge - battery discharge - consumption yield + Load yield + Feed in yield)

note the Load yield is found on the Site Overview Monthly Yield ...

Dave Foster wrote: Sat Jan 14, 2023 8:14 pm I’m not that familiar with the Chromebox host but unless it can act as a DHCP server, the inverter would need to be connected via an intermediary such as a router that can issue IP address leases.
The Chromebox is running HA OS on its own, so I'm guessing I need to reconnect to the router.

Re: H1-5 Entity is Currently Unavailable

If it showed all 0’s, it’s lost the IP address not sure why it does that but possibly the DHCP lease expired, or it resets if it loses the physical connection - I get the feeling this isn’t the best implementation which might explain why they’ve removed it but no answer so far as to why.

You’ll ...

Re: H1-5 Entity is Currently Unavailable

Probably worth checking the IP address on your inverter is what you think it is (and what you have in your HA config), if the router is set to DHCP and the IP address wasn't set as static the lease could have expired and the inverter has got a new IP address.

You can see the IP address the ...

Hi all,

I have recently setup Home Assistant and all was well for a day, but then it seems as if there is no longer any sensor output on the LAN bus.

I was previously connected to my router via a switch, but have now connected the LAN directly to the Chromebox host, still no sensor info.

Swapped ...

I have recently spoken to Fox ESS UK support to get a firmware update and during the call, was told that the RMA solution to swap out the V1 BMS with a V2 due to unavailability of V1 batteries, is no longer active.
Apparently, V1 batteries will be re-eleased this year and if you need to change to V2 ...

Solar energy use controlled by your system will be prioritised.
Most likely it will be house loads, battery and then grid, in that order.
The house house will take what it needs and the rest will go to charge the batteries, so unless the house is drawing no load at all, the battery charging power ...

I haven't delved too deep into this, as I bought an iBoost, but there are DIY PWM projects available, which might be worth investigation, in addition, I've noticed another company "Solic" making a cheaper diverter, at a current price of around £225 (I'm not affiliated) this would give you a ROI in ...

I have a feeling that I used an MCB instead of an RCD for the PV system.

If they are anything like the HV2600 batteries, they are fairly simple plug and play devices and come with installation instructions, but do check if you need mounting ...

I have noticed that changing the SoC of the batteries in app, as opposed to web app, differes in terms of the change being permanent.

I have had situations where I thought I had ...
